I have no problems with any device when watching/listening with the TV as the display device.
However, when using the projector, (a fantastic picture, especially in 3D), occasionally the video and audio drop out during a movie, all I get is a blue screen. After a short while the audio will come back in but not the video. Sometimes they both come back together but that is rare. This usually happens after about an hour into the movie. Also sometimes, I can sit and wait a bit for the signals to return, at other times the wait is too long to bear and I start switching things to try to resolve the problem. When this stuff starts, it keeps happening all night and always at odd/irregular times, dropping out, dropping in. Sometimes the video does not return at all, until I turn off the receiver and turn it back on or in worse cases, turn off the projector and turn it on again, which means pausing the movie (to retain a signal) and waiting for the projector to cycle through the cool down period before restarting.
This issue went away for a a few months but now is back, in spades. It is driving me nuts.
One thing I do know is that the HDMI output won't drive a cable any longer than 10m, which was annoying for a while but has been managed by shifting equipment. My projector hangs off the end of a 10m HDMI 1.4 cable with the wiring to the projector going up inside the wall and across the ceiling.
I run a dedicated, 22ft long x 16 ft wide, theatre, with a 136" motorised drop-down screen, rather large JBL 4331A studio near-field monitors across the front, JBL bookshelf studio monitors for the sides and rears, plus an 18" JBL sub for good all-round thump (down to around 16Hz) and a home-brew 15" folded horn sub that gets down to just under 20Hz but peaks around 45Hz (for that well-tuned kick in the gut when the big explosions hit).
ps: I posted this issue some time back but when the problem started again (I have been away OS for a while), I couldn't find the thread to see if there were any further suggestions. I think the beast will need to be shipped to a repairer to test the HDMI signal levels.
