Picked up the new Marvel tables this morning. They are very busy tables with a lot to figure out. Definitely worth the 800 points in my opinion. They are Iron Man, Wolverine, Spiderman , and Blade. Some may think there is too much going on. Audio wise, they seem to got it right. Was hoping to hear the old Spiderman and Iron Man tunes but I didn't and figure it is not there. Too bad about that.

It is definitely "video" pinball. You might want to do the demo's before committing to buy if you are looking for any type of analog play. Blade has the most interesting effect with the ball. Iron Man goes thru a costume change which I liked. My personal rank is Iron Man, Spiderman, Blade, and then Wolverine. All are interesting though and extend the life of the game. After several plays, my rankings will probably change.

Tried a Live game and got my hands handed to me again. I really stink online. Maybe we need to have us an AVS tournament some night soon. Seems we are all on about the same level here.

I did pick up 2 of the new achievements. All of this is without looking at the rule sheet. Probably look at that next time I play. Anyway I give the new tables a 9 out of 10. Same as I give the game. Can't wait to see what else Zen has up their sleeves in the future.

I couldn't agree more. Extremely busy but extremely fun tables. Hard to keep your concentration on the ball there is so much to see on the table itself.

I think these tables are well worth the 800 points. Only problem I have now is stopping and going to bed at a reasonable hour. I love to play pinball at the end of the night and I keep playing far too long. I have a feeling these tables will be getting tons of play from me.

I also sent out some other friend requests.

I'm starting to get into the new tables now. I don't really care for the Iron Man one, but I like the others. The part in the Spider Man table where the flippers change sides is a fun trick.

I went in the zone the other day on Rocky and Bullwinkle and scored 125million. There were lots of combos involved in that one.

#291 with 75.5 M after finally getting thru the Reflex upgrade after at least 10 tries at it. I still have never gotten thru the Perfect Organism mode though. Is there a trick to getting thru that?

Well done (I see your score on my friends list)!

My high is only 32M, so I haven't gotten near the Perfect Organism mode! I haven't been able to hit 3 skill shots in a row yet to get the reflex upgrade either. Yesterday I hit the first two and missed the third and ran out of time before I could get the ball back to where I could launch another...

There is one person that sent me a FR after playing some multiplayer, their score on Biolab is 290M. Their rank is 25. How long did your 75M take? I can only imagine how long it takes to get to 290M.

To hit a skill shot on Biolab, pull the plunger to slightly more than halfway. Basically until the green disappears after hitting the second notch on the meter. This has worked for me to hit the skill shot every time.

It probably took about 15-20 minutes. I managed to get 3 balls at a time going 5-6 times during it. If I could have gotten thru the Perfect Organism play, I maybe could have broke 100 M. I did manage to get thru it today but only managed 56 M. I think it said something about being on Level 4 but am not sure.

If you do it that way when you are launching the ball into play and then immediately use the upper right flipper to send it down the right ramp it gives you 200 thousand for the skill shot and another 800 thousand for shooting it down the ramp. Easy points. You can also launch the ball by hitting A and as it is making the second revolution around the bubble, tap the left stick on the controller and you can get the ball to go into the skill shot hole. Just takes practicing the timing to do it. Then make the rail shot and you get 1.6 million.

That's the much better way to do it because you activate the 4x multiplier for the skill shot by going around the bubble once. I've just never been able to get it to work, and the way using the plunger strength works for me probably 9 times out of 10, and would work all the time if I was better.

Try using the plunger at the 3/4 mark and then flip it in with the left stick. Using it that way might be easier for you. I always use it for the first ball as I can always start over if I fail. After that, I do the 2nd mark way as I am like you, get it about 90% of the time.

Finally managed to break 100 million. Final ranking was #287. I doubt I will ever be a threat to actually win one of these tournaments. Not enough patients or skill. I think I am done with Biolab for quite some time.

New table out today... "Mars". Decent enough -- up to Zen Studio's usual quality, but I doubt it will be a favorite.

Worth $3 bucks anyway.

Seems ok. I like the animations but the play, like you said, only decent enough. First time I had played in awhile. Maybe they will be releasing several more over the next few weeks. Did get one of the achievements rather quickly. Not sure if the other 2 will be within reach.

About to buy some tables, currently have none of them. Which ones do you guys recommend I pick up first? Looking at only a handful or so to buy to start off.

Maybe its because the action is a little slower than with other tables, but Mars is one of the few tables where I'm able to put the ball where I want with some measure of consistency and actually get some decent scores. As such, its actually my favorite table of the ones that I own.

I would start with the FX2 "core pack"... all 4 of those tables are great.

I believe you can download all the tables as trials and unlock them if you want to continue playing.

I would recommend starting with Earth Defense and Excalibur.

Thanks again. I've tried some of the demos, it's just that they're so short that you don't really get a good feel for the table, at least not enough so to make an educated purchase. I'll check those two out though.

I like Secrets of the Deep and Pasha a lot, so I second DaverJ's suggestion on the core pack. Beyond that, I really enjoy all of the Marvel tables, but Spider Man is by far my favorite with Blade coming in second.

Biolab is a favorite of mine. Mars is growing on me more every day. Rocky and Bullwinkle is the easiest to get a high score.

Mars is growing on me too. Once I learned the missions, the table gets to be pretty fun. And the generous side kickbacks make it easy to keep the ball in play. The design is simple but elegant. EDIT: Mars is currently the tournament table, so that will help the wizard score!

Rocky and Bullwinkle..? I find the long tables (also Nightmare Mansion) to be the toughest.

However, what I can't stand about most of these pinball titles is when playing locally, and if you want to have more than one person playing, AND want to take turns playing the same table...


The game does not allow me to have a friend use a separate controller. Sure it can, however ONLY if it's a split screen situation...otherwise, I would LOVE when I loose my ball, that my friend could play their ball with their own controller (rather than having to pass it back and forth.)

It's the same way on "Pinball Hall Of Fame 2."

The exception is the original "Pinball Hall Of Fame." That DOES allow two people to play by taking turns using their own controller.


I did in fact once get a hold of the people who created "Pinball Hall Of Fame 2" and was told...


"Thank You for contacting Crave Support. The reason you cannot use multiple controllers during multiplayer was to prevent the sharing of achievements between 2 different profiles. Wow, talk about hard!

I once was able to have A LIVE multiplayer game only to have it set for 100 million with a 10% loss.

After about an hour of playing, I could only reach about 10 million and I had to quit.

So later...I tried to set up my own game only to find there's usually no one that joins.


Does anyone know when is the best time to set up multiplayer games?
