Lots of baseball fans here huh?

Just turned it on and it looks a bit washed out, not much pop to colors at all. This will likely get better as the sun goes down, I hope.

Anyone know if that was the music from The Pacific that they used for the "Home" piece?

any other DirecTV customers not getting a picture at the moment????

DirecTV in South Carolina... WACH 57....

EDIT: Back up now....

So far so good. Aerial shots don't look too hot into American Telephone & Telegraph Park, but the shots from within the park look good. In the interest of full disclosure, I have my Bravia KDL-40s4100 picture mode set from "vivid" to "standard" (up until yesterday I used vivid all the time), which seems to hide the artifacts. I think at least from the centerfield camera, the camera operators seem to be filming for 16:9, although it seems like the angle towards homeplate is not level.

Watching on Fox 5/69-KSWB

Very soft picture with a ton of video noise in the backgrounds of closeups. I agree with keenan's comment about the lack of pop. Watching on KDFW Dallas via FiOS.

No pay per view over the net?

Watching WAWS In Jacksonville, Picture goes not have much punch, kinda washed out and the audio is terrible to much background sound

Not sure which camera it is, but those closeups of the pitcher are not very sharp at all.

Viewing via KTVU-San Francisco on Comcast cable by the way. Comcast does not compress local broadcast channels.

MLB.com, I think it costs about $10.

pq not too bad. looks like a typical late afternoon game (i.e. "real", not artificially poppy and saturated)... video noise (as noted by someone else) on long shots... centerfield camera appears to lose focus every now and then... color is good... no swimming grass...

typical fox overboosted surrounds when "action" happens... geez, guys, pick a freaking sound level and stay with it...

fios, south jersey.

side note. why couldn't the freak pitch like this against the sillies????

Remember though, that is to accompany the game broadcast on Fox. You choose up to 4 camera angles at a time. However you don't get the actual broadcast feed with postseason.tv as you would see on your local Fox station.

Yes, I just saw the reference to it in an article about the FOX/Cablevision dispute so I don't have any real experience with it.

WTF? It's broadcasting here in 4:3 (Houston, Comcast)

I agree, the image looks real as far as color saturation goes considering the weather/time conditions, I think once the sun goes down and the lights are providing all the light it will pop a bit more. The overall image is definitely on the soft side though, the thought that came to my mind was that this image couldn't hold a candle to what you can see on Yes Network(1080i).

Call your local station, going through the newsdesk line sometimes is a quick way to get to engineering.
yea, can't argue with that, it's a tad soft...

baseball always looks better at night to me... it's that way for me when i actually move my lazy butt off the sofa and go to a game as well...

also, on replays, i'm getting the gah-bage (closed caption info?) on the very top of the screen... but not on live action...

edit: i guess cliff lee really isn't sandy koufax incarnate after all...

That's weird, now it's back to 16:9. Must have been a glitch.

Sounds like an overscan issue with the display.

I didn't think there were overscan issues with 720p channels. I would think the only way for that to happen would be set one's STB/DVR to display 1080i HD, then set your tv to "full pixel."

Is there a problem with the D* FOXE feed? Trying to watch the game on the plane and the picture/sound was breaking up constantly. All the other D* channels were fine.

The problem is being looked at now, apparently it is a problem at the network end.

looks good on dallas fox 4 ota
considering the thompson cameras lack decent saturtion, Tim the SVO is doing a great job.
It will look better on the Sony cameras at Arlington Saturday.

Thats interesting. I didn't have any closed caption or overscan issues. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I have my DVR hooked up via HDMI straight to my HDTV along with the digital optical audio straight to my AVR?

dunno. i go from the tivo box to the integra, let it process, and go hdmi to the display... i do have the tivo on fixed (1080i), because the delay in resolution changes drives me crazy (i'm very bad when it comes to channel surfing )...
