final observations on the series.

giants did great job shutting down rangers running game. remember how the
rangers were stealing runs and taking extra bases against tampa and the yankees. didn't happen in the series with the giants. posey through out 2-3
of their basestealers, impressive.

how many firsts or near firsts did we hear about these young giants. posey youngest catcher to bat third in the world series, one of 4 rookie catchers to hit
a home run in a world series, fifth youngest catcher ever to play in series, and i could go on and on.

posey and baumgardner 2nd youngest battery ever in world series, mad bum 5th
youngest starter in a series game, and youngest ever to throw that many shutout innings.

giants have a superior core of players on which to build for years to come.

Yes, since before last season my bandwagon Red Sox fan brother was going on "oooh we're gonna get A-Gon" "When are we gonna get A-Gon" "Can the Pads lose a few more so we can get A-Gon" Well they were actually good so i'm glad he didn't get traded.

Egads. If I had a Red Sox fan brother like that I'd probably do a "Cain and Abel" on him.

^ What's even funnier is he used to be a "Giants fan" and tried rubbing it in, i simply said "Good for them, are you going to temporarily jump back to your old team?"
Sorry guys, if you want to copy what the Giants did with a bunch of great pitchers i can see how you would say pitching is the main priority, but we won't add Cliff Lee so what's the point? Probably not even Kuroda.......I have to remind people that the Dodgers couldn't hit a lick after the All-Star Break, they have much bigger holes in offense/defense to fill. If you look back to when they had the best record in the league, now you have a 3B that is old, 2B that is much worse, LF is much worse. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place, nothing on the farm to help you out, no money to spend, you can try to get bargain bin players and hope you strike gold.....even the guys the Giants had are about to become expensive i'm sure in Uribe, Huff etc. Even if there were smart deals to be made as a "quick fix" i don't think we have a GM that is capable of that. This is a guy who needed a crack team of FBI Investigators to figure out Andre Ethier was a good player and should be included in the Milton Bradley deal.........despite winning several awards at ASU and being the A's Minor League PLAYER of the YEAR the previous year...

The media and fans love to go on about ownership, but didn't we just see a $100Mil team win it all? And a $60Mil team show up the party? The GM is more to blame IMO.

I would really love it if the Yankees did pull off the Cliff Lee deal, then throw $60Mil at a relic in Derek Jeter just because of fan appreciation, media hype and "intangibles", in the ALCS we saw a team that couldn't hit and these moves would not address that...unless they go up to a $300Million payroll.

You want to hear something really unbelievable - Jeter just won a Gold Glove again.
oh yeah!

to top off the dream season for giants fans

buster posey, rookie of the year and so much more

giants were about a .500 team when he came up,
they played about .600 ball after posey joined the
squad and the magic began.

Congrats to Mr. Posey, it was well deserved.

By the way, I'd like to thank the forum mods for allowing the off-topic posts in this thread. Of course, that may change at anytime.

Congrats to Jeter for winning the AL rookie of the year award (again) despite it being his 16th year in the league.

hey giants fans, comcast bay area sports will be rebroadcasting select
2010 giants playoff games starting tonight at 8:00 up through christmas eve.

best part is that they have giants announcers narration of the games
and not those idiots from fox.

worst part is they're not going to replay any of matt cain's shutouts.

go to cnsba web site for dates and times or replays

best christmas gift ever!

well sorry for the erroneous post. they only showed it on sd on
dish. did anyone get the re=broadcast in hd?

it should be available as it looked like they used fox's feed of the game
and just dubbed over the giants radio announcers.

It was HD on D*. They used the TBS video and the KNBR audio.
