Except he's faking it. Bale's Wayne is a very intelligent and deep thought man as well.

I'm fine with skinny, just not a fan of pale or pasty. That's why it didn't work out with Nicole Kidman and I rolleyes.gif.

Age is only a quantitative number that has nothing to do with quality. Have you seen her at age 51? She looks more fit, and more gorgeous than 90% of all females that are in their 20s.
she still would have had a better figure and personality as Catwoman.
There would have been a logic problem if she had been recasted....it would have acknowledged there was TWO Batmans (Keaton and Bale), and that would have been a serious hurdle to overcome (story-wise).

I truely believe that in 20 years when we look back at TDKR, her role will not be remembered. It's going to be Bane and Batman. Michael Cane would be a close third for me. He did a tremendous job as well, and he's really the only character that I would say is a "hands down" victory over the Burton films.
I'm still a Michael Keaton fan too, I admit. I think his Bruce Wayne is much better than Bales. I tend to like a soft, intelligent, deep thought Wayne more than a hot-shot playboy Wayne that reminds me awefully too much of the exact same character found in American Psycho. smile.gif
No argument here.

The James Bond franchise seemed to overcome keeping Judi Dench around as "M" through the reboot from Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig. Not to mention that earlier Bond movies had the same "Q" from Sean Connery to Brosnan.

I really liked Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. Although I admire Michelle Pfeiffer too, it seems to me that she wouldn't have worked as Catwoman in this film. Pfeiffer is 54 years old, nearly old enough to be Bale's mother. As beautiful and sophisticated as she is, I think casting Pfeiffer as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises would have been a spectacular mistake. I liked the sexual tension between Batman and Catwoman but Pfeiffer would have been unable to bring her own sex appeal to bear here.

Sorry, it didn't...but it did open up a slot for me and we have been happy ever since.

True.
However, Dame Judi's "M" isn't about sexual dynamism.wink.gif

biggrin.gif ...I agree with gwsat, Michelle Pfeiffer is simply, and obviously too "old" for Catwoman, even if she's still as gorgeous as ever. I have a soft spot for Pfeiffer in Batman Returns, but only because it's her; Anne Hathaway was perfect in TDKR.

Yep, Pfeiffer is still a MILF but nevertheless far too old to play Catwoman in a contemporary Batman flick. Now it would have been entirely different if they had cast Michael Caine to play Batman opposite Pfeiffer's Catwoman.smile.gif

Not to mention Moneypenny - she spanned (but never succumbed) several Bonds as well.

She could, but we'd have to call her "cougar" instead of cat....

Your straight faced sense of humor nearly got the best of me this time, Partner. I was getting ready to post that Judi Dench will turn 78 years old this year so how could she possibly be a "sexually dynamic" M? Then I noticed your smiley face. You fooled me again.smile.gif

The amount of fun we have been having over the advancing years of the lovely Ms. Pfeiffer almost but not quite, makes me ashamed of us. I of all people should lay off because Pfeiffer is the same age as one of my daughters. What can I say? I was a young father.smile.gif

Some fan art that would make great custom covers for the eventual Blu-ray.

Just saw this one and was more impressed by it than I thought I'd be. Post hype, TDK didn't hold up well for me, so I had conservative expectations going in to this one. I found the story more compelling and linear from beginning to end than TDK, and the ending impressed me in the same way that Nolan did with the climax/resolution of Inception. Faults, yes, but I was highly entertained nonetheless. An easy BD purchase for me.

Just saw this last night. In addition to the movie being long, drawn out and boring WTF was that movie even about? Bane had some good lines but overall not a good villian for this movie.

The movie also felt very kiddie. No one getting shot, no vile images(Joker) not much violence. Just your cliche brawl on a rooftop and fight with the main villian. This was not as good as the second batman with Joker. Seems like the franchise went backwards and I thought Nolan hated Robin

This movie couldve been so much better with Riddler who couldve played a jigsaw type of role.

Exactly. But in spite of this I ordered it on Blu-ray. A reviewer claims that a second viewing is needed to really enjoy all the nuances Nolan has put into the film. I guess I'll see if he's right or if it will remain a disappointment for me.

I didn't care much for the movie either, but I think you missed the part where the hundreds of cops ran directly into waves of machine gun fire.

(Why they would run directly into waves of machine gun fire, rather than circle around the sides and back, is another matter entirely.)

Did you "tune out" or fall asleep during the film? I only ask, since the bolded part is inaccurate. Lots of people were shot/killed, including multiple people having their neck broken by Bane.

No one says you have to like the film, but it would be nice if the criticisms were based in reality.

Besides there was some blood in TDKR (not much but still), which was not the case in TDK, except for the CG Aaron Eckhart...

The Dark Knight Rises was flat out awesome movie it was great at the cinema and on blu ray. The Blu Ray is a Tour De Force for action and super hero movies, the sound is just incredible.

Bane is now my second favorite villian behind Darth Vader.
