I would prefer something like THE DARK KNIGHT TRIUMPHANT than what we have, but as long as the movie's good (and I have faith in Nolan that it will be), that's all that really matters.
and hopefully we get another awesomely nasty Bat-vehicle!!

That sounds too much like Batman Triumphant, which was Joel Schumacher's original title for Batman & Robin, until the studio pointed out to him that the title was kind of a plot spoiler.
A title doesn't really make a movie. Hitchcock was going to call "North by Northwest" by the truly awful title of "The Man in Lincoln's Nose." But the story was still the great story it was...

Philip Seymour Hoffman as the penguin. Stamp it.

Sam Rockwell as the Riddler.

Dennis Farina as Clayface (Basil Karlo).

Kevin Spacey as Mr. Freeze.

I like the Kate Beckinsale suggestion for Catwoman, but with the Catwoman movie from a few years ago, I doubt she's even an option.
Rainn Wilson as Egghead, but now I'm pushing it It would be eggstraordinary though - eggxactly what I would eggspect. Perhaps a bit eggstreme.

Tom Hardy as Bane.
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

Confirmed.
Tom Hardy is an outstanding choice. Anne is an intriguing one. Looking forward to this one even more now!
Hmm... not bad. Not bad. Tom Hardy is a good choice, I've enjoyed all his work. I'd like to see his performance as Bane, fo sho.

I find the choice of Anne Hathaway particularly troubling. IMO, she is too pretty and feminine to pull off a female "Heath Ledger" in Nolan's gritty Gotham universe. I hope Nolan transforms this doll into an edgy, kick-ass character.

BANE! Not sure why Hathaway is Catwoman..sorry but those huge teeth in a mask remind me of Sauron @ the East GAte,"What is thy bidding??"

How is Bale going to get bulked up within a month or two to start filming?? He was ridiculously small @ the GGs! Time for some serious weights for Hardy and Bale!

I honestly think the guy from 3rd Rock from the Sun could pull off the Joker. Nolan has nailed his casting so far but Anne?!?!

Remember a lot of people wondered how someone like Heath Ledger could pull off a "Joker" as well... And then the movie came out...

I have to find a single instance of miscasting from Christopher Nolan's part... I trust him and can't wait for TDKR...

I'm sorry, but Michelle Pfeiffer is the ULTIMATE Catwoman, right down to looks and personality. Re-watching Batman Returns in HD a few days ago made me sure of this. Holy Sexiness.

I don't think she can ever be topped.

Remember Charlize Theron in Monster? I think Anne could be made to look just about as nasty or tough as they please.

Does anyone feel that these enemies are just WRONG?

First off Dark Knight is an serious adult, Dark, deep thinking type of film. Bringing in people like Catwoman is just pulling this series into the ground. This is a path that shouldnt be walked for this movie.

Bane is not a real villian and is something poison Ivy made up.

Next is going to be penguin and Mr Freeze and ROBIN !

But these won't be directed by Nolan!
As I said, I trust the guy... And I'm sure Bale doesn't want to end the trilogy with a stinker either
post #78 of 1558
This movie should be about the Riddler and he should be a direct reincarnation of jigsaw and torture people in a gruesome manner and only riddles could solve his torture traps.

Steroids.

The Machinist -> Batman Begins -> Rescue Dawn -> The Dark Knight -> The Fighter -> Dark Knight Rises

This guy's heart is going to explode in his chest. The human body wasn't designed to take that sort of radical fluctuation.

It's really between The Machinist and Batman Begins that we saw a truly huge difference.. Rescue Dawn was made a year after Batman, and The Dark Knight was made 2 years after Rescue Dawn. He had time to prepare for The Fighter, which also was filmed two years after TDK (he was also thinner in Public Enemies). I agree with you he probably pushes it to the limit I guess at times, but I don't think he looks particularly anorexic on this pic (from the golden globes): http://www.goldenglobes.org/blog/201...-golden-globe/

Unfortunately, she was the only good thing in that "stank" movie..

She might not be incredibly edgy, but have you seen Havoc?

No doubt about it, but I would like to have seen Sharon Stone in that role; she just happened to be doing Basic Instinct at the time. Sharon could’ve purred with the best of ‘em.

Agreed.

But Hathaway should be credible at least.

I don't know about all that... Serious and dark, sure. Deep thinking may be pushing it.

From the pic above in Lee's post, I think Anne will look perfectly fine, hot and sexy in her kitten suit!
Careful now, the announcement said that Hathaway was going to be Selina Kyle, not Catwoman. Nolan and co could pull a Two-Face and have Selina Kyle appear in much of the film and Catwoman show up near the end.
She's definitely hot, but strikes me as kind of lightweight and dim. That's just my opinion, but who knows? She could be reading over the script at a mensa meeting right now. I just hope it's not Katie Holmes all over again. She almost ruins BB for me.
