We just bought a house and this means I have to deal with the room I have for the moment... in the basement with two small windows on the back wall, one medium sized window on the side wall and door with a medium window. All of the windows do have blinds, but will of course not be completely dark. To make things worse, the ceiling and walls are white and the floor is covered with a dark green carpet.
My projector is a Pioneer Elite FPJ-1 (so and RS-2 clone) and ceiling mounted with the lens at 74". The top of the screen would be on the same level as the projector lens (i.e about 6" below ceiling). Distance from seat to screen is about 15' and the projector is mounted straight over head.
Currently, I have an older pull-down Draper Gray screen, which is way too dark...
I've been looking at the Da-Lite Perm-Wall Cinema Vision as this would allow a bit of gain. I did order a sample of the High Power fabric and it does look good, but I don't know if I really get much gain from the HP as the projector is ceiling mounted...
So, what's your recommendation, Cinema Vision, High Power, or what else should I look at? It will be a 106" fixed 16:9 screen.
Obviously, I don't want to spend a fortune... (I would've ordered the Stewart StudioTek 130 if I could, but that's a bit too much for me to spend).
