power on pc with external switch?

Thread Starter
I have a EVGA 680i SLI mother board that seems not to be able to power-on the PC with a USB keyboard. When i used a PS/2 keyboard it was able to power it on with no problem, but i change to a Logitech G15 keyboard that doesn't work with a ps/2 adapter. I have the PC hided behind a wall and it is not easy to reach it to press the power button. The question is; is there any adapter that connect to the PS/2 port that could be used as a power switch to the pc? or anything that permits me to power on the pc without having to reach the power button on the PC case?

Could you not wire a switch to the power header on the motherboard? It's just 2 wires.

Just connect a simple push button to the wires going to the case power switch. You can likely go a fair length but I'd recommend you twist the wires with a cordless drill.

Just a thought: have you tried connecting the USB keyboard to a powered USB hub?
