Question about Mitsubishi 3DTV as computer monitor

Thread Starter
There are no Mitsubishi 3DTVs within 160 miles of here and I am curious about how the sets work in conjunction with windows based computers interfaced via HDMI 1.3.
My main question is can the TV be placed in checkerboard 3D mode in all cases or is it disabled when there is a HDMI splitter or perhaps receiver between the HDMI output of the computer and the TV?
I need an answer to this question before I can consider purchasing one.

I have a 2009 82" connected to my PC with Nvidia 3D vision and Power DVD Ultra. Running the video through AVR,switch and Mitsubishi adaptor resulted in slight delay and double image. So I connected PC directly to TV and optical cable for AVR sound. For some reason the latest Nvidia drivers result in my inability to change screen resolution so I use old one. 3D is great and 2D DVD conversion to 3D is good.
