I would suggest setting all speakers to small, not LFE + mains. 80 Hz crossover. 11 o'clock sounds very high on a 15H. Can you post a room layout?

I have only fronts. They are B&W 683. I have set them as small and the speaker as LFE+main. Should I leave 15H as 80Hz crossover? I currently have them as 90Hz. What should be the crossover for 683's? I have them as 60Hz.

Will send the room layout later this weekend since I need to measure.

+1 the sub looks much better in person and sometimes I kick myself for not getting the rosenut finish as I'm sure it is beautiful in person, but my speakers are black so oh well. I use to have piano black speakers and they also get micro scratches on them from wiping dust off of them so I would guess something as large as the 15h in piano would have really gotten on my nerves. I'm not trying to sway you, just something to consider.

Both my wife and I like the rosenut (we have a pair). It makes them look much more furniture'ish.

I would have loved to go that route but I could not justify the price with my other speakers being black.

It might have been a different story if my Jamos 807s were black.

I need a little bit of advice guys.

I just got my second 15H today. I managed to get it set up after solving a humming issue. Immediately I noticed that the beastly twins mean business when that red light turns green on their backs. I fired up
Total Recall just to give them a go. I ended up rattling my pictures on the walls and I believe I might have heard some feedback from the windows in the room.


I'm running a 5.2 system and wondering if I need to run Audyssey again since adding the additional sub if all I did was add the sub with a Y-splitter. My version of Audyssey doesn't EQ the second sub. Should I it again to get Audyssey to set the sub volume closer to zero? It's at -3.5 right now.
Also is there anything else I can do to blend in the second sub into the theater besides gain match the first sub?

I would rerun Audyssey. You have added a whole new set of room interactions when you brought in another sub, audyssey will help to correct for them.

My VTF-15H arrived today. HSU did an excellent job packaging it to protect it. All of the pictures I have seen across the internet do not do this subwoofer any justice, it is so sexy looking in person, wow! It is my first subwoofer so I am not one to compare it to anything but it sure sounds awesome. I spent just a few minutes setting it up to get some music going. I'll spend a lot of time playing with it to see where I like it best and all the settings on it. I need to get one of these fancy new receivers with Audyssey on it. Thanks to HSU for cooperating with me on my purchase and shipping. I am super happy!

I know you will love.it. I loved mine so much that I ordered another. Would have been playing around with it today but work got in the way. Oh well me and my twin subs will be tackling the new Judge Dredd this weekend.

Outside of what you have already done and re running Audyssey, you can try measuring the room, and if you have the flexibility, try different placement options with both subs and then re run Audyssey and re measure. It is time consuming, but it would give you a much better idea of how your room interacts and where you will get the most from your subs.

I will do that but I have all the headroom and extension that I could ever want already. It sounds almost like I have 4 subs in the room.

Too much headroom and extension can be severely bad for you. Since my old body is shot anyway I suggest you trade me your dual HSU's for my one Rythmik. Think about it, I'll be saving your from a shorter life span due to all those low bass frequencies beating on your body.

I have a problem with my new VTF-15H. As I am trying to watch my movies I find myself more interested in just staring at my subwoofer and missing the movie! Dang it is one sexy rectangular box!

Same problem here. At one point I thought my crossover was too high and I was just locating the sub by it's sound but I think I just kept looking over at that location whenever there was heavy bass in a movie I was watching.

Ive got mine at the 9 oclock position. I demo my system to friends and -10 on my receiver. This sub will really let you know where the rattles come from. I can hear my dishes rattle in the cupboard in the kitchen and my closet door on the opposite side of the sub rattles itself against the door frame. I love it... my wife on the other hand does not. But she likes the look of it.

Ordered the 15H couple days ago. Should be here friday. Gonna team up with Definitive Technology 8060 towers, 8040 center, 8040 rears, and Pro Monitor 1000's. Now next is to upgrade my receiver from my Onkyo TX-NR609 too? I have read the multi eq xt32 does wonders...
