Yamaha RX-A1000 Computer Blu-Ray Player Sound Intermittent

I did not have this problem until I got this new receiver. When playing blu-ray discs, the sound stops frequently for about 3 seconds, then starts again. When the sound stops, the receiver display changes from DTS to Decoder Off. Additionally, it does it at the same place in the movie every time. It happens during both action scenes and during low volume scenes. I am running an optical digital cable from my computer's Gigabyte motherboard to my RX-A1000. I also have a new LG blu-ray drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had similar problem with ripped mkv files from USB HDD plugged into my S580. Called Yamaha today [got an answer on Holiday weekend Sunday at 9:20 a.m. EST!! That alone makes me glad I chose Yamaha]. Tech had me select PCM output on the BD player, all is well. 5.1 works and sounds great. Wonderful in Pure Direct mode.
