'Conan' on TBS HD - Page 4

I thought last nights show was better than the previous night. Enjoyed the local news skit with Andy's see-through shirt.

All in all it is great to have Conan back. After this first week and all the newness wears off, I can see them coming up with some really good skits and I bet there will be many since he had plenty of time to work on them.

Already looking forward to Monday nights show!

I added the show to my DVR to record every night. Even on nights that I dont care about the guests I'll just watch the intro and whatever skit they do at the start of the show.

As for the last show of the week (sucks that there's only 4), I was least looking forward to the guests, but they turned out to be the best of the week. Michael Cera who is usually a giant bore told a really boring story in an amusing way, with assists from both Andy, Conan, and a funny mug. Bowen was awesome and had my wife dying with her Fatty and Smarty story. Ghost shirt was funny, but I disliked the bit. Kanye was great. All in all a wonderful week back for Coco, but please give me some Twitter Tracker soon.

That's what I mostly do. I usually don't watch interviews with guests that I didn't previously already know who they were. Except when Conan had the WGA strike a few years back, and all the guests were people I didn't know; those were entertaining.

It says Conan lead all late-night talk shows on Thurs, but a 1.0 in 18-49 is pretty close to what Letterman and Leno typically get so the lead probably wasn't by much. It seems likely that Conan's 1st place results won't be lasting much longer.

I was bummed that there was no episode on Friday, but am looking forward to the second week! I've always been a Conan fan and have really been enjoying this show so far.

Also, I saw the "Pour some sugar on me" promo commercial last night for the first time, and was dying laughing.

What is this? The Asian chick was the best guest he's had so far, because it was actually FUNNNYYYY, are some of you guys network execs who think it has to be a "big name" for me to care? I didn't bother with Knocked Up, but now i might record it next time i see it in the guide.

I wish the monologues were longer, and where all the characters he use to have like that puppet dog.

After 5 episodes, one thing that's becoming very clear is that they're working on a much smaller budget. It feels very "cheap". Its funny, but they've yet to do much of anything that screams "production". Hopefully that aspect of the show changes.

Compared to what? Twitter Tracker? Celebrity Survey? If They Mated?

At least the TSA bit was actually funny, unlike the above three which either were until they ran it into the ground and snuffed every ounce of life out of it or never were.

Sorry, I liked If They Mated!

Can someone tell me if they are running more commercials? Seems like the show is much shorter on actual air time.

I would also like to see less monologue and more Conan Skits. To me that is the best part of the show.

Leaving the studio bits, Max's drum kit driving away. Twitter Tracker is something that annoyed me at first but grew on me.

Well, the Tonight Show is 62.5 minutes long. This show is only 60, so that's nearly three minutes right there.

"$h!t and Die"
Basic cable is fun, I still don't believe they didn't bleep it. Harrison Ford had me rolling, the absolute funniest interview I've ever heard from him. Then Rosario coming on and trying her best to flash the camera -- damn nearly had an attack about 2 minutes into that interview.
Biggest laugh so far in "Conan's" short existence: "S*** and die."
The funniest show yet. Agree, the Harrison Ford interview was freaking hilarious. Loved how when Andy said something, he just turned and stared at him, I was dying. It really was funny from start to finish including the comedian at the end. This show is finding it's legs now and will have to watch every night.

Great ep. My favorite moment was Andy showing up in the commercial aimed at black folk.

I've been watching this daily
It was a toss up from my local 10:00 PM news or Conan.

I watch the 5:00, 5:30, and 6:00 news, so I'm skipping the 10:00 news. lol.

'Conan' 2nd Week Ratings Steady, Top Late Night Competition

By Bill Gorman– November 18, 2010

Posted in: 1-Featured, Late Night TV Ratings

I’m playing a bit of catch up with the Conan ratings for his second week, here are Monday’s and Tuesday’s. Wednesday’s should be available later today.

Conan’s Monday & Tuesday adults 18-49 ratings of a 1.0 and a 1.1 look like good news for TBS as they seem stable, well above where what they’d likely consider success, and still above the rest of the Late Night competition.

Monday’s Conan delivered 851,000 adults 18-34 and 1,286,000 adults 18-49 (a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating), tops among all late-night talk shows. The episode was watched by 1,803,000 viewers overall. Compare that with Conan’s premiere Monday numbers. Compare them with other late night ratings on Monday.*

Tuesday’s Conan delivered 947,000 adults 18-34 and 1,395,000 adults 18-49 (a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating), continuing to top all late-night talk shows. The episode was watched by 1,838,000 viewers overall. Compare that with Conan’s first Tuesday numbers. Compare them with other late night ratings from Tuesday.*

That's pretty impressive. If he can settle in with about a 1.0 in 18-49s that will be quite a success story.

I disagree about Conan having the worst guests. So far it's been a good mix between "big gets" and funny people that Conan clearly wanted himself. I like the idea that Conan can bring in guests from pretty much any network - on NBC they would have forced a supporting actor from an NBC show into the second slot absent someone else.

If Conan is aiming for booking guests he thinks we'll enjoy over guests we already know, I think that's a brilliant idea. I had no idea who the Yi chick was, but I thought she was a great interview.

I record this show daily now. Had been on a Ferguson kick, but I'm loving Conan again.
I enjoyed the interview with the Wave author he had on last night. Very interesting and I was disappointed when the interview was over.

I'd say the only guest I didn't like was that Yi chick.

Oh, and his second week of guests has been better than his first week.

Last week everybody tied everybody, including themselves, except new Conan, who beat everybody, including old Conan.

Even Lopez has a better set with a monitor, more time to do jokes, and a huge stage.
I laughed my ass off during the entire Russel Brand interview. That was awesome. Conan just kept setting him up and getting out of the way. Great stuff. And yeah, people were kinda worried about the guest list this week, but its been great.
Brand is awesome, i'm curious how much Jimmy Kimmel's ratings have dropped, we all know about Leno, don't like Letterman so i recorded Jimmy during that break.

Can't believe he's actually giving away 20 cars
