My fourth 3DTV arrives friday

My new Mitsubishi 82" 3DTV arrives on Friday.
It replaces a Sony SXRD front projector in my theater.
I will be selling my Panasonic Vierra because it doesn't support checkerboard mode which is all I use now.

I find it fascinating that my favorite 3D mode which is checkerboard is not supported by the vast majority of 3DTV manufacturers.

Technically I have two 3D tvs (which is already two more than most people; a Samsung 61a750 and a Mits 73C9), but I think you may have a problem. :P

I should point out that I primarily use these 3DTVs as computer monitors and not just TVs.

Is checkerboard "better" than S/S or T/B?

It depends on what you mean by "better".
As far as I'm concerned it's better in every way except it is incapable of displaying 1920 by 1080 per eye.

My 82 inch Mitsubishi 3DTV is here and I have mixed feelings about it so far.
I am having major issues with using it with my computer.
The screen goes blank often and doesn't return for several seconds. It may have something to do with HDMI handshaking, not sure.
Hooking exactly the same source to my UN40C7000 3DTV yields no such problem at all.
The good news is that I like the image quality for the most part.
Not quite sure what to do about the blanking issue.

My parent's used to have a WD-65737 and I gamed on it with none of the issues you speak of using it as a computer monitor, so maybe it might be some handshaking issues. However, you do have a newer model, which my parents do have sitting at home right now . So, when I go home for my 34 day break from college, I will definitely give it a go, hopefully I won't run into these issues. Out of curiosity, what gpu's do you use Nvidia or ATI?

Nvidia GTX-460

The problem occurs when resizing windows and switching between full screen and window mode.
It doesn't always do it but it happens quite often and is unacceptable.

Most of the issues with the screen blanking are now fixed with the lone exception of playing a new file using PowerDVD.
I moved my front center theater seat only 6 feet from the screen and watched some of my homemade 3D video and CWACOMB and I like what I see.
Interestingly, I just leave my windows desktop in checkerboard 3D mode and can view numerous 3D windows at the same time just like I can with my Samsung 3DTV.
It works quite well even from this close up.
My biggest gripe with the TV is the significent overscan which is of course, unfixable.
I like that fact that I don't even need HDMI 1.4 at all.
