Anthem MRX Receivers - 300, 500, 700 Owners Thread & Tweaking Guide - Page 510

I have owned a ton of AVR's/Pre pros over the past year from the Emotiva UMC-1, Denon AVR 4810, Marantz AV7005 and the MRX 300 I have now is better than all the others with EmoQ or Audyssey EQXT. I have not tried XT32 so can't vouch for that but the ARC in the Anthem just sounds better where is the Audyssey just sound sterile, dull if that makes sense.

If you can wait for the new MRX line and possibly find a dealer who will let you audition the Pioneer in your own home that should give you the answer you need.

I think I am going to hold off and wait for the 510 come out. Do we know any more details on a release date other than early next year?
Hi BigJoexxl, and thanks for the thumbs up. Actually the 510 and 710 are going to be introduced tomorrow and will be shipping in October, so Anthem may have info on their site tomorrow too. The 310 will be released in January, so if you want a 510 you only have to wait until October.

mazpri, posted a list of features and release dates here at post #15257 about 10 post up.

I'm not sure how they would handle it. Even if you didn't buy an external amp replacing a 300 with a 310 that has fewer amp channels is a downgrade. Then again getting a 510 for a 300 is loss for Anthem so I'm not sure what would happen.eek.gif

Having to repair / replace a malfunctioning product is a loss no matter what they replace it with.

I have had NO Anthem Problems and I own two of them [a Statement D2 & MRX 500].

As someone who has been on Anthem Boards - both of them - since Day-One I have
read ALL the posts and contributed to many of them.

As someone who also owned every other brand made at one time or another. I can
SAFELY SAY: Anthem Support is the BEST in the Industry.

Anthem even changed the Manufacturer of the MRX series because they saw too many
issues as well.

AGAIN - I think that is a FURTHER Statement they try their BEST to maintain the highest QUALITY.

Is ANY FAILURE a Pin in the Butt - YES. All we can do as AV Fans is support the Manufacturer
ANTHEM who tries the hardest to deliver the BEST.

Although I do not use as many capital letters as Hank, I would agree with Hank that Anthem customer service tops all CE manufacturers that I have ever dealt with.

How are things in the live free or die state Hank?

I have no problem if they replace it with a step up model. If my 300 crapped out and they sent me a 510 or 310 and it has more feature that are useful to me then it's a win for me.

Going Great Stan.

It is so appropriate you use our Motto - I had to use it on
Tuesday with a Police Officer.

The only thing that would make it better is a REAL Paying
Job.

Dittos on Anthem customer service, along with so many others. I am a dealer so from a different perspective, in almost 40 yrs, no other major manufacturer even comes close. When a dealer, you can' t be hung out to twist in the wind. Anthem/Paradigm techs have never let me down.

Is anyone here using a MRX Receiver to power KEF LS50 Spekers (Sensitivity 85dB) in a HT 5.1 setup with subs? What is the results? Is there enough output SPL for a small to mid size room?

I used it with Q100s, which are in the material respects for your question (volume displacement, impedance curve, sensitivity) basically the same.

You'll be fine with any of them on those speakers. Put another way, the 5" concentric drivers in the Uni-Q will give out before the amp section of the 300/500/700 does.

+1 and TJG55 is a great dealer as well. He will be ordering a 510 for me as soon as possible. smile.gif
Or as soon as Anthem takes orders.

Anyone catch any news or links out of the UK launch party that was held Thursday? I saw some chatter on the avforums.
No luck here. Other than AVForum it's pretty quiet on the MRX x10 front. Even over there all they are talking about is how many units will ship. No real info yet, just a lot of speculation and a few who do the I know something but can't say anything yet.

ANTHEM MRX 510

I'm not sure it's official photo or not and of what exactly model. I like this minimalistic design

Is there an option for The MRX to turn on in Stereo Mode? Keeps going to "anthem xxxx" mode when I turn it on.

Thanks

Roh
I believe modes are set by input and your pre-set preferences for each signal type. There is no overriding stereo mode.
Go to the menu and set your default listening mode for each source..then when you want to change it temporarily ..hit the audio button and scroll up or down to see the other audio modes available.

To be clear, hit audio twice, then scroll.

So I am here at CEDIA setting up my company's booth. We are right next to Anthem and I got a peek at the new MRX. To answer a question previously posed in this thread, the 310 only has pre-outs for 5.1 channels. List price is $1199. 510 list is $1599 and 710 list remains $1999.

Anything else you want to know, just post it.

Awesome - Does the 510 or 710 have pre-outs for expanding to 9 channels? any chance they've got the jump on HDMI 2.0?

When will it be available in store?
Only 7.1 pre outs. There's no mention of HDMI 2.0 so I assume by its absence that it's not there. The signage calls out Fall 2013 for the 510 and 710 and January 2014 for the 310.

Show starts tomorrow and I can talk to reps then.
