I'm not really into over-explaining things but they have the gen1 setup and I have the test discs. I also advised them of the situation here a couple of days ago. Feel free to contact them.

I'll let someone know, and in the mean time try tech@anthemav.com. Same inbox and hopefully that'll work (e-mail spam blocker sometimes overdoes things).

Nick@Anthem, I know we all seem to be jumping up and down about the DTS thing. I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for all the help, support and Q&A you provided in this thread on a daily basis. Unless I'm mistaken you are under no obligation to come here and help us and be the face of Anthem on AVS. I love my 300 and sure I'd like to know whats going on with the DTS thing but at the same time I just wanted to say thank you for all the support and information you provide.

Thanks, much appreciated and for the record this is totally extracurricular in terms of own time spent and opinions expressed but probably still my neck if the result of the activity turns negative. Just doing it out of enjoyment, curiosity, and hanging out with anyone who has common interests. Just an employee, no stake or commission.

Is the 2 disc version of WOW worth the extra $10?
Thec'NONE' on mine only comes up if it is selected on the onscreen menu for surround sound presets.

Maybe someone who is more knowledgeable than I can chime in but I think it depends on what your specific needs are. Would it help possibly future proof (not that future proofing is really reality) the product? Maybe but then again if you really don't NEED it then it might not matter. For myself, I know that I have 2 TVs that are not HDMI 2.0 and that I won't be upgrading them anytime soon unless something happens to one of them and they are out of warranty. A 4k player (assuming they make one) doesn't do me any good if I am not upgrading or replacing my TVs. And I will most likely NEVER have the 32+ channels of audio that it supports because I don't see a future where I have a room that can accommodate that many speakers. But hey, I can dream right?

Hdmi two is no big deal...i read up on it
No new hdmi cable is needed.
most of us do not even need it at this time.
Im sure the new 310 will be just as awesome as the 300 is...i only run 5.1 anyway...7.1 is overkill for my room...for those of us that invested in the 1st gen
mrxs.....just love what ya got for now.
And lets see how the new models work out...time will tell....anything anthem is top notch..we are in the presence of the best quality avrs available
ARC raised my listening experience to a level i have never had in my listening room.
Soooo...no matter what gen. Mrx we have, or want
Ya just can not go wrong!
In my opinion there is no better!
Now....where are those anthem t-shirts?..nick?

Thanks Nick

I am positive gen2 will have great reviews and really looking forward to reading them. My suggestion to anyone who does not own an MRX, get one.

I think 6-700$ would be the going rate for a mint 300.

Hmm my experience has been $100-200 less than that for Canada

I was looking forward to the new MRX models, but no HDMI 2 pretty much killed it for me.

^ The MRX 710 I'm testing has an HDMI 2 output.

Well that's good, what about the 510 though?

I think the original comment was the new Anthem's don't support HDMI 2.0. Just want to make sure we aren't confusing that with having 2 seperate HDMI outputs to support two different TVs (HDMI out 1 and HDMI out 2...like some receivers have).
^ Right. Two HDMI outputs -- both HDMI v1.4. I can see this is going to be a major point of confusion. biggrin.gif

Oh yeah...that's what I meant. No HDMI 2.0, no sale. I need it for 1080p/60/3D and 4K gaming from my HTPC.

^ Why stop at 2.0? 2.2 is right around the corner. biggrin.gif

I wouldn't call it bleeding edge, it's nothing dual link DVI hasn't been doing for years.

^ THAT'S the spirit! HDMI.ORG couldn't possibly screw it up, this time.

But, to me it is a question of timing.........HDMI 2.0 is about to come out right now (and is on the new Panny tv), and may be needed by some customer's...........I would want the capability. I would have waited to make sure it was included if I was Anthem......since they don't seem to update as often as mainstream co's like Yamaha, Denon , and Onkyo (notice no replacements for the 3010/5010 units yet...wonder why?).

I will still be having a listen to the 710 when my local dealer gets it in. It looks like there is only one sub pre-out........so the new Arc system can only calibrate one sub? Is that really correct........if so it would be a downgrade from my Onkyo TX-NR3009 with its' XT32 dual sub calibration.
I ran ARC in a new room. The corrections don't look as good I i had hoped. Let me know what you think and if you have suggestions for make this better. I really wont be able to move things around though.
