Where to view Epson 8350 in NJ?

I am looking to venture into the world of front projectors and have settled on the 8350 based on reviews and also reading here. Before I pull the trigger I would really like to see it in action first. I have already been to BB, electronics expo, 6th Ave, and PC Richards in the Woodbridge area and none of them were showing any fpj.

Does anyone know where I could view one?

And if not the 8350 then something very similar. I just want to see if the larger picture is as clear as a 60in plasma. I want to go 120in but not at the expense of PQ.

If there are no retail stores displaying would someone who has one installed mind showing me? I'll bring PIZZA.

Should be picking mine up in a few days.

I am in North Jersey.

But I am on strict diet so I require Sushi. ;-)

Upgrading from a xv-z9000 This was a 10K DLP 720p unit that I installed 9yrs ago. Still works great but I want to run all my equipment 1080p and do not want to spend that kind of money this time around as I am waiting few years for the 3D projector and Bu-Ray market to mature before I get something more beefy.

Why not take a trip into New York -- the City -- and you can get other things done besides, like take in a show, sample fine dining, check out the sights.

Me, I don't have the time, and I trust the opinions of folks here well enough since I'm a newbie anyway and am sure just about everything will look good to me at first!

Do you know somewhere specific in NYC? I am there fairly frequently.

B&H Photo Video on 34th and 9Th Ave has a few projectors set up, they did on my last visit this past summer.

Just set it up. Amazing. Going from a very good but almost 10yr old 720p unit. It is a huge difference. Avatar looks amazing on it. I will not attempt to review it as I do not have any if it's competitors projectors to compare it to. But I can say that projector technology has come a long way since 2001.

Would you mind showing it to me? I work in passaic county.

Central Jersey here. If you haven't seen one in the next few months, you're welcome to the premier showing. My theater room is still being framed, and I'm making the store hold onto the 8350 so I don't get tempted and set it up too early!

Thanks for the offer but hopefully I will be done by then. Maybe you could come and see mine?

That model you won't find on demo in stores...best bet is another member local to you who has one.

Racer, where in North Jersey are you? I'm also looking at the 8350 and can't find it set up anywhere. I'm looking to pick one of these up on Black Friday somewhere if I get my act together in time.

If you think you are going to find one to view, well, you are "living on a prayer". Sorry...couldn't resist.

Haha. You know what, when I created my login a few years back, I didn't realize I was going to get hooked on this site! I am a bon jovi fan but I don't know if I had to make it my username. Little did I know 3 years later, I'd be coming to this site every day.

Hey Jason,
I am pretty sure you sell the 8350 right? Though I did not see it specifically mentioned on the site but I remember reading you sell pretty much all of the major brands. I know this is the budget model, but do you offer the same Quality Control Check before you ship it out as you do on the higher priced Epsons?
Can I get it...yes. Do I sell it...no. Why? Honestly, some of the sponsors literally give it away (you'd be amazed how low a margin is on that unit already, let alone discounting). So essentially with the simple mathematics of problems with QC, well, ultimately we'd lose money.

Gotcha. Makes sense.

Ruddmeister/Racer and company,
Did you guys get to see this in action yet? If not, PM me. I have it setup in my house. Very modest but if you want to give it a look let me know. (North Jersey 10 mins from GWB).

Do people do this often, I will have my 8350 setup later this week and wouldn't mind showing someone, but its a little odd thinking about inviting a stranger into your home, no?

racerx, Thanks for the invite but I could not make it. Sometimes work interferes with life, I appreciate the offer though.

I bought the 8350 sight unseen based on this thread and am extremely happy with it. Installed it this weekend along with a 120" screen, new Pioneer 1120 reciever, and a new HTPC. I then watched football from noon to midnight. Amazing.

I am in the Woodbridge, NJ area and would be glad to show anyone interested my setup.
