Whoever did that, and I hope they're reading this - is a POS dumbass.

That being said there are also very many well designed wave guides readily available........They may not be quite as nice as the SEOS, but then again they are available from reputable manufacturers like JBL, QSC, Renkus Heinz, Dayton, etc.

Tell him if he feels that way, he can go buy those other well designed waveguides, as you're not holding his money hostage and he could have waited until after the preorder was over if he really wanted it. Refund this kid's money and never ship to his/her address in the future, as they are simply a douchebag.

Wow, Erich. Unreal. This guy is pretty classless and then to go on about someones design like that goes off the charts. I completely agree with bwaslo. Refund/Ignore.

What was it Spicoli said to Mr. Hand again?

Ive never heard of the $20 paypal dispute fee

However, that guy should maybe bother reading what paypal has to say

Quote:

Step 1 - Identify issue

Most disputes are the result of simple misunderstandings. It's best to initiate communication with the seller as soon as you recognize a potential problem.

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Center within 45 calendar days of payment. By opening a dispute, you are able to communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you and your seller are unable to agree on a solution, you must escalate the dispute to a PayPal claim within 20 calendar days of the date the dispute was opened. By escalating to a claim, you would be asking PayPal to review the case and decide the outcome.

A dispute is not an actual paypal claim, paypal wont come after your money until it is escalated to a claim. Ive never opened a dispute but a dispute basically just allows him to extend the 45 calendar day resolution period.

Not anymore. With a dispute, they take the money out of your account immediately.

"Disputed Amount: -$x.00 USD- The disputed amount has been temporarily
deducted from your account until the dispute is resolved."

Epic Failure!

This guy (1) failed to read the terms of the pre-orders; (2) have absolutely zero patience.

I hope he didn't join the AE drivers group buy.

Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth - actually, several horses, Erich and the other designers generously donating their time and expertise to this amazing community effort. And I for one really appreciate that there are a number of different designs being put out there, to accommodate a variety of needs and price points.

Erich

I will gladly pay the extra fee as a very small token of my appreciation for all of the effort and more importantly time that you have devoted to this opportunity for all of us. We are all in this together, and I certainly don't mind! You have my PayPal email address, I am on the preorder.

I know it is not about the money necessarily, but at the same time it does not help.

Please do not get discouraged. Let me know when I can load my tape gun and roll to Cincinnati and help get some of those preorders packaged up for you. I would rather just come and pick mine up anyways.

Hmm, i guess paypal realized people could just pull out their money whenever a dispute was started and paypal didnt like sending people to collections (which is what they used to do i think)

How many did he order? i was gonna pre-order 3 (maybe 4, im undecided), ill just take some of those over.
Guys, let's just let it go. It's not worth worrying about anymore and sorry I brought it up. It was just surprising. It will be deleted. I knew in my gut not to do the pre-order thing for this project. But some thought it was okay, so I did.

I've never taken on a project like this. And as some here know, there were certainly speed bumps along the way and very late nights worrying about the project. I'm just glad it's almost done and that we'll be getting everything soon.

I got involved with the project from the beginning because I wanted to see if the DIY community could get it completed. And we did. It wasn't "my" project at all and never intended it to be. My intentions were to help if I could and try to get the "Econo" portion done.

Even after all the issues, I'm still glad I did this. It was a big learning experience.

I just want to say
Thank you

Plenty of us do appreciate what you're doing.

Refund his money - it won't cost you anything ($ fine) or affect your ability to transact via paypuss.

Dunno if there are threads at the other sites where members made pre-orders, but it might be worth updating there to ensure there is no one else worrying unnecessarily.

Hi Erich !
I have followed this thread with great interest, and contibuted a little in the designphase. I live in Denmark, Europe. I want to buy some plastic SEOS 12, and think it would be stupid to have the horns send twice over the ocean, and pay EU importtax. Do you think it would be possible to have them send directly from Poland? I would be ordering at least 10, depending on price. I´m sure there are at least a few other europeans who would be interested in some solution.

If one guy disputing and getting a refund is all the headache you get out this deal youll be doing all right.

As long as you refund his money it shouldnt impact you, it does suck he didnt contact you first though.

Now, tell me more about these CDs!

I'm not sure where the plastic SEOS is manufactured. It may be elsewhere. I'm sure it would br nice if some europeans could get together and do similar group buys though

Hi Thor

I contacted guys from www.autotech.pl by e-mail about a month ago. They told me that plastic Seos 12 will be available in Europe in 2 months. I want at least 4 (probably 6) pieces. So, bottomline is, we can expect them in one month or slightly more.

Regards, Mladen

I think that's still being figured out. Shipping is the problem.....as always. They wanted about 100, but that's going to be a medium sized box which isn't cheap. Dividing out the shipping cost by only 100 waveguides would likely take the price up to their poured models.

I've got 1 - 1.5 weeks before things at work slow back down to normal. I need to contact Autotech again to get the next pallet figured out and other things I'm hoping to get done. I'm sure they've enjoyed the month vacation from my emails!

There's a good chance that I'm going to let one of the better employees sort of take over for me at work so I can spend more time on the audio stuff. Then we can really get things rolling on a faster and bigger scale. I'm still deciding on that though.

If that happens, then i will have to ask few of my friends from USA to buy couple of SEOS 12 and send it to me in Serbia. I didn't want to hustle them but maybe i'll have to.

We'll see in about a month what will be their answer. Until then ...

Are you going to donate that logo for the good of mankind? I can send you some of the "free" sample waveguides I have for helping with it.

If so, do you have a bigger version? I'm going to look into printing up a piece of paper with some SEOS info on it and I can put the logo on the front side. On the back side I'm hoping to print the waveguide's actual perimeter and cut out lines just in case anyone needs it for a template.

i'm not a designer, but iirc, there is something called a vector graphic.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphic

essentially, it converts all the shapes into math, lines and curves.

as a result, no matter how you resize it, you never get any "jaggies" on the diagonals. everything prints smooth and clean.

last i check, inkscape is a freeware program to create vector graphics.

xxx.svg is a scalable vector graphic file.

logos = creating vector = using adobe illustrator to produce .pdf or .ai file of the logo. This is difficult because i didnt buy the font, its $30, ill see if i can produce something without actually buying the font...

If you would like, I can probably trace it in illustrator.

There are folks who can laser etch the image into wood. A source local to me needs an ".eps" file to do so.

I had my ex lady friend make some logos up about 4-5 months ago when it we were talking about it. She's a graphic designer, but didn't spend much time on the project.....probably because she's an "ex". But I think she used a greyscaled image of the SEOS in the logo. I thought I posted them at some point, but I'm not sure where I uploaded them at.

Omegalast, I don't mind buying that font if I have to. But I'm pretty sure I have some that looks almost exactly like it somewhere. I need to double check.
