Is that with EQ?

I had similar for awhile, except ported, and while there was a local peak at 18 Hz output was way down compared to 80 Hz.

Perfect application for 6th order ported.

Wow, that's a lot of gain. As a policy I make a conscious effort to hold EQ gain to 9dB or less. If you don't do that you are much more apt to clip on dynamic passages.

Even tho I hold at 9dB the 'limiter light' will sometimes flicker.

not really as long as your amps up to the task it doesn't matter.

If you are doing all of your gain in the analog domain I can see where you are more apt to get away with it, however you are still trading off for less dynamic headroom and higher distortion.

In my case it matters more because I am doing most of the gain in the digital domain and will quickly 'run out of bits' if I'm not careful. Digital clipping sounds particularly ugly.

SEOS/EOS: 24", 20" or 18" for 1.5" drivers - please vote.
24. For an 18 there are 1" drivers that will do it.

I agree and Yes! I would immediately buy a pair of both if they were available today.

What would be really cool would be if the exit angle were matched to a TAD 4001 - since only crazy people would do it anyways

Can you remind this angle?

SEOS 24 is ready with throat angle 14deg, waiting for Radian 950/951 and 18sound ND4015BE, NSD1480N, ND2060A angles.

Radian 950 = 20 degrees. 18sound 1480 = 10 degrees, 2060 = 18 degrees.

Ready, thanks for info.

I haven't been able to contact him about it. I have a lady friend that's a graphic designer and she could make it, but I'd rather see if he was able to easily make us a bigger photo.

On the bigger SEOS, the drawing looks more like the size of a SEOS-22 or so, which I thought was the better way to go for shipping and things like that. Wouldn't the SEOS-24 be around 25+" wide? I guess it doesn't matter what it's called anyway.

If there isn't much difference between 22" and 24", I think it would be best to stay on the smaller side. Seems like a total width of about 22"-23" wide would be ideal, but that's just my opinion.

Mother's Day is almost here and it's hell week at work. But once it's gone, I'll have a lot more time to start focusing on the other parts of the SEOS project. Mainly the flat packs and front baffles.

If anyone has any cabinet volume or dimensions they are good, please let me know so I can start planning something out. That way we've got things to pick from once they finally arrive in a few weeks.

I would like to see a slim sealed cabinet, something like 12-14" in depth. Do you know how much volume the seos 12 takes up?

I'm looking forward to an SEOS-12 surround using 2 or 4 high efficiency 6" drivers like the NS6. Something like the Malcom, but flipped upside down.

Do you have measurements for the EOS 30?

Not sure if this is what you were asking......a flat-pack cab that fits the 10" one-piece baffle would be slick. Just add veneer for a premium speaker with minimal sawdust. Sized to fit the Eminence Deltalite would be nice....

This is only CAD file. Some simulation can be done.

+1

Initially, have flatpacks for the SEOS 12 designs that Mr. bwaslo has kindly provided. Those will go like hotcakes once the drivers and waveguides are available.
