Oh certainly, I'm not looking for anything "mold ready", I'm mostly interested in just the internal profile of the waveguide (since my limited understanding of how they work means I don't really understand how that shape is generated, and why it follows the curves it does). The throat, mounting points, flanges and whatnot I am comfortable generating and fabbing on my own. Even if there aren't 3D files available for the SEOS in particular, does anyone have any others that they know of, or even some resources to read on the math behind the shape itself?

If you want to keep everything timber matched, go with the 10" Delta Max.

I'm not really sure. I was just saying i would get the boxes or the baffles for what ever people thought was needed.

The BA750 has fantastic build quality, but I'm single, so I figure now is the time for a huge horn system. You're right about the need for a sensitive supertweeter IMO. 24-SEOS takes a 1.4 CD, so that's what I'm looking for.

If you want huge horns, order the Iwata 300hzs. They are beauties, and I am too single and get away with it. I am still using SEOS for my HT, but the Iwata's are in my stereo audio system.

Very interesting, Josh - is it that you find something about the SEOS superior for high-volume situations, with the Iwata is....?

I have the SEOS 18/TD15M/BA750. Sorry but no review or build thread for awhile. It took almost a year to get all the parts esp. TD15Ms. In the interim I started on a large living room/ kitchen remodel so the speaker project is on the back burner for awhile.
Yes, the BA750 looks like it can kick some serious azz and it's got the hindquarters to do it.

Received all my crossover parts for the Daniels. Erich, if/when you get the baffle done, I'll be ordering 5 more SEOS-12's and 350 compression drivers.

I'm getting in a lot of baffles and other things today. I'll get them listed.

The Daniel baffles were made a little large to be on the safe side, and so I can cut them down to the proper size before adding roundovers.

What size would you want those baffles to be?


For the guys using the A&E 12" woofers, will you be leaving the large gasket around the mounting flange or not?

With a slight change to the bracing, the 12" woofers will fit in the smaller 1 cuft enclosure. There's about 2.5" between the pole vent and the back brace on the Definimax. The box is 10.75" deep and has a double thick baffle with one vertical and one horizontal brace.

Make the cutout to include the gasket. At least that way the woofer will fit with and without.

oooooooooof, after much banging around and figuring what I wanna do I think I'm focusing in on the waveguide speakers.... I have a few questions for the masters like Erich and such who have built a lot of these. I was told by ack_bck that the Delta 10 set should pretty handily stomp my Polk Moniter 70's and CS2 center for home theater use. My situation is that the Monitor 70's are just too big for my area (they dip into my projector screen a bit). I have two monster THT's corner loaded that take care of the low end so I crossover at 80 hz on my receiver.

I had Ack_bck mention that I might not seem much difference between the Karma 10's and the Deltalite 12's in my situation because of the 80hz crossover and I won't be using the 12 inch woofers lower frequencies as much. My question to you oh Gods of the waveguids is where is that "sweet spot"??? am I not going to see much difference in upgrading past the karma 10? I mean am I going to see double the improvement in my situation (since it's near double the price between the Karma 10's and the Deltalite 12's)... or maybe go with one of the other "in between" kits? I guess you could say which one is going to be my "best bang for my buck" scenario with the situation I mentioned above.

also since I'm powering them with my Onkyo 605 and not an amp where is the stage where I'd have to use an amp instead of my receiver, I noticed the Deltalite 12 and Karma 12 had a big power increase and DIidn't know if I could fully drive them with my onkyo 605

I hope other experts chime-in on your comparison question. I will be replacing some Klipsch towers (dual 8" mid woofers). replacements will be SEOS12s over the 12". Delta lights. I am hoping to hear more impact in the frequencies just above my 80hz x/o

I don't know what Klipsch towers you have, but I replace the RF3s with the CS1s (which is a similar 2 way designs as the SEOS).

1) Huge imaging
2) Greater dynamics
3) Mid bass kick is awesome
4) That bright harshness is gone

The CS1s also use an Eminence woofer.

I am hoping to build the SEOS soon to replace the CS1s as my fronts. Hopefully I will get to hear the difference soon.

I currently have the RF35s. Based on your input my upgrade result should be very nice!

I'm going to SEOS/TD12M from Klipsch RB-75 system and think it'll be a nice upgrade.

I also have M&K S-150 in the special real wood mahogany, but those are still in Cali. I always liked the Klipsch, but never loved them.

I don't think that's going to look ugly at all. The dimensions and layout on that baffle area look rather nice to me. Big, though, of course. But that should make for a great center.
