Mitsubishi WD-65C10 - Harmony Remote Won't Change Inputs - Page 2

I found that document online also. I was hoping that there was one for the 2010 series as those are the ones people are having issues with. As boozcruz has said many people are reporting they don't work with the 638/C10 series and I've also heard issues with the 738/838 series. Unfortunately I can't try to create a hex code since I don't have the actual remote. I'm going to ask in the 738/838 forum and see if people can use the above method for direct access control of those TVs. It is starting to sound like Mitsubishi crippled discrete codes for all of their 2010 DLP TVs.

It doesn't make any sense why they would do it. I could kind of understand them taking it out of the lower end lines to try and entice people to buy the higher end models but you would think they would advertise the point rather than leaving owners SOL.

Wanted to follow up now that I have my 73738. As people have speculated here, the 738 and 838 do support Discrete codes but the 638 and C10 don't. It is actually advertised on the spec sheets for the individual TVs.

738 Sheet:
Customization Features
Direct IR Input Selection Yes
Direct IR Format Selection Yes
Independent IR Power ON / OFF Yes

638 and C10 Sheets:
No mention of Customization features and other documents say that Direct Access isn't available for those TVs.

If Discrete Power, Discrete Inputs and Discrete Formats are important to you make sure to get the 738 or 838 series. Mitsubishi has removed these features from the lower end models apparently to differentiate the lines. Seems like a lousy feature to remove but what can you do.

Something that may work if you want to try. I can turn on and off 3D mode by hitting Tools and then the #7. This doesn't seem to be specific to Direct Access mode so it will probably work with the 638.

myharmony now works with the 650, which is the model I have, wonder if it'll make a difference with my 65C10?

Tried this last night but could not get in to my account, anybody give this a go yet? Would really like to be able to switch inputs on my TV. I know it's a longshot...

I know it's been almost 2 years since anyone has posted on this, but I have a pretty reliable workaround for the input selection problem.
The main issue with not having discrete inputs is that when it get's messed up, you never know what input it is on, so most solutions require multiple button pushes to get to the right input.

There is actually a way to normalize it using the following sequence:

Last <-- this is the key!
Input
Direction (however many number of times below your tuner)
Enter

The "Last" button goes to the last tuned channel on the antenna. This is always the first input. From here, you press input, then the down button however many times to get to the right input, then enter.

I programmed this as a sequence then assigned it to a button and called it "Input Fix"

Most of the time the input doesn't change, but when it does get messed up, this button can fix it every time.
