She specifically mentioned that's what happened in the case of the ps3 and the LG and Samsung models. She also mentioned that Vizio will soon make this available on their units.

So in my case, Oppo and Mitsubishi will have to update their VUDU apps to include 3D content.

And so you called Oppo, and they said....

I thought Vudu was server based, not client based. Any changes to the Vudu content is done dynamically from server-side updates. This saves the manufacturer from having to put out new firmware to take advantage of new API changes.

Though it is possible that 3D support may be a client side issue, as the codecs and other communication algorithms may be completely different with 3D content.

If the problem was really on the player/TV manufacturer's side, I think it highly unlikely there would be only TWO stand-alone Blu-ray players with VUDU 3D support at this time.

Fortunately I'm not a big fan of 3D, or I might get annoyed.

I know that there are some anti 3d fans on the forum. I have to say that oppo does a great job with the 3d with the 93 player. just have to be patient about getting the 3d for vudu.

Heck. I'm annoyed that there's such a thing as 3D Blu-ray, or that low bit rate streaming will probably replace Blu-ray fairly soon, or ...

Its the same on my tv, i wish Oppo had one like the ps3 for that matter. Hate the fact that it limits to 100 episodes but oh well c'est la vie.
I have gotten more then 100 episodes from the tv series from the oppo netflix.

Which TV series?

ETA: Just checked and South Park is still only coming up as 100 episodes. The last episode shown is 197, but there are lots of gaps in the list and the total is just 100. The correct result should be 207 episodes (last episode #207 and no gaps in the index numbers -- although not all episodes are included).

Sorry i should have made it clearer that its limited to only showing 100 episodes. Once you exit and come back the other episodes become available. Say you watch 1-100 then exit and reload netflix then 101-200 will be next.

medium has 117 episodes. I am able to watch all of them on the oppo 93 player. x-files has more then 100 episodes. its mssing some of the later episodes.. but still more then 100 episodes.

On my 93, x-files comes up as 100 episodes with the last index number being 185 (and thus gaps in the index numbers).

OK, THAT'S interesting!

I went into X-files and it said it had 100 episodes the last of which was index number 185 (lots of gaps in the index numbers).

I played a little bit of episode 185, then exited and restarted Netflix and NOW it says X-files has a last episode index number of 202, and the gaps previously below episode 185 are gone!

However, the description text STILL says it only has 100 episodes.

Silly Netflix app!

ETA: Ah, I see it *STILL* has gaps in the index list now around episode number 164 and below. Apparently it is still only showing 100 episodes in the list, but the ones it chooses to show seem to vary depending on what you last watched.

LOL, I almost did, but I don't have any 3D glasses and am not into that yet. I just called VUDU as I was curious and figured I'd pass it along. Right now 3D is not that important to me.

See how much annoyance you can avoid if 3D is not important to you?

I am seeing more green screens at the starting of the movie than before with the new bata.

Is anybody else having trouble with Netflix right now? I can't get in, but VUDU and the other apps are OK. I'm on the latest beta and it worked yesterday.

Yes, Netflix didn't want to connect tonight at all. I power cycled my 93 and it helped, but Netflix was still very slow.

I also experienced the greenish screen problem off and on until I power cycled.

It eventually picked up and was working the rest of the evening.

I just upgraded to the new beta firmware. I tried netflix and it is not responsive like the previous version. Anyone else notice this.

On a side note I do see that lot of people have reported ISO support being present. I do understand that with ISO support now one can store DVD ISOs which the player can then play. Are there any advantages of using ISO of a Blu-ray over placing the files in AVCHD folder.

I was using my computer connection at Netflix tonight (10:00PM PST) when I took a break. For some reason I checked my queue, and found both the disk queue and the instant queue empty. Out 11 year history seems to be there. I called customer support which claims 24/7 coverage, and got a message that they were experiencing a high number of calls. "Please call back later."

I tried to restart the program that I was watching and got a "bad Internet" message: call 1-866-579-7113 which isn't the same as the customer support number, but the message was the same, "Please call back later."

It looks like some kind of data base crash to me.

Edit: Also, I'm unable to add anything to the queue.

Hi Bob,

Well I cranked up my 3D projector and the Oppo and attached is a photo of My VUDU after ordering the 3D content via the website. Now I have a 3D selection waiting to be viewed.

If God had meant for us to stream Blu-ray quality audio/video he would have made the Internet faster.

Netflix evidently had some sort of crash last night. Nothing on their Blog owning up to this, but lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth on their Facebook page.

*looks lovingly at collection of REAL shiny discs*
