) the video (but NOT audio) dropouts got so bad, and I got so frustrated, I watched the last 3/4's of the movie on my LG BD570 and had flawless viewing. No video drop outs or even hint of a drop out.

, well, the bad is outweighing the good, as the frustration levels are very high right now. Picture (when not dropping out) and audio are both pristine and I couldn't ask for any more. But with a really nice 73" Mits DLP, Denon 4310CI, APC power conditioner, and never an issue with the Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player, the LG BD570 blu-ray player, and a Sony DVD recorder, this leaves the Oppo as being the culprit.
