Samsung UN55C8000 or Sony XBR-52HX909????

I was wondering if anyone has seen the 2 sets side by side? Black Friday's coming & thinking of making a purchase. I've seen both the Sony & Samsung separately but not side by side. They both look great. The 8000 is cheaper but I'm still interested in the best 2D picture quality etc.

So just wondering if anyone wants to add their 2 cents worth???

It's very simple.

Sony = better PQ
Samsung = ~12% bigger

You can figure out the difference in price on your own.

Now pick...

I had the Samsung and returned it as I was able to get a 52hx909 as replacement for my old SXRD set for an excellent price.

The Sony is MUCH better than the Samsung for PQ, and screen lag. Full local dimming backlight vs local dimming edgelight is no contest. Unless you are always going to be viewing in an area with a large amount of ambient light or are not the type of person to care about flashlighting/blooming types of issues, I would recommend the Sony without hesitation.

That is not to say that the Samsung isn't a great set. The Sony is just that much better.
