"AVS welcomes "Mark Haflich" aboard.
We are glad to have Mark on board for sales and service. You can contact Mark for all your sales needs via PM or direct through our office at 585 671 2972. Thanks everyone.
For the curious here is a little back ground to familiarize yourself with Mark.
Mark graduated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering in 1967 and a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 1971. Mark was a Lecturer in Engineering at the Boston University School of Engineering while attending law school. Mark retired from the law in 2001 to devote full time to his audio video business.
Mark has been married for 27 years and lives with his wife and a 110 lb Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in suburban Maryland horse country in a large contemporary house on a lake. Many have attended meets there and many in the business have over nighted there when on business in the DC area.
Mark became interested in audio and video after graduating law school and became fascinated with video projectors starting with 3 CRT 7 inch tubes Zeniths and started installing them in home theaters in the early 80s. While he was a lawyer Mark consulted for a variety of audio and video manufacturers and he was also the attorney from a number of well known luminaries in the audio field.
He knows most everyone associated with the field of high end audio and video. He has a great deal of experience in most consumer audio and home theater products having sold many of AVS's brands such as Denon, Parasound, Onkyo, Marantz, Oppo, Lexicon, Sunfire, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, DVDO, Lumagen, Stewart, Da-lite, Draper, Vutec, Chief, Cineslide, Panamorph, Isco, Lutron, Niles, Elan, Speakercraft, Harmony, Universal Remote Control, Phillips, RTI, APC, Panamax, Monster, Richard Gray, Polk, Sim2, Optoma, Epson, Runco and a whole variety brands that we don`t presently sell, particularly with respect to high end speakers and electronics.
Mark is ISF certified and extremely knowledgeable about audio and video optimization both from working with a client's specific budgetary and set up limitations. Mark is a regular attendee at trade shows such as Cedia, training seminars, AVS meets, and has visited AV factories around the country and the world. This is extremely beneficial because Mark is the type when asked a question or faced with a problem he can`t immediately answer or solve, to say, I don`t know and get through to the right people around the country and the world who can help, most who know him on a first name basis. Mark has a twelve seat black pit acoustically treated home theater which is regularly used by manufacturers for training glasses and which is available to AVS to demonstrate hard to find products such as the Vango. He is definitely an oldie but a goody and he is not only a valuable resource addition to our sales team but one who can be of great assistance to you, our customers."
Congrats to AVS, for pulling off a major coupe in having Mark Haflich onboard for sales and service; and Congrats to Mark for getting on board the "AVS Express"!
