Happy Birthday Joe - mine is later this week...if I survive my comparison thread
On the RS40 thread, an owner posted that he noticed an increase in ghosting the more he closed down the iris...putting aside understanding how a -15 iris setting would work in real world set-ups unless you have a 10.0 gain screen, the one thing I did not test with my 90 before returning it is taking it out of Auto Iris and setting it to manual, fully or near fully open, to see if the effect he is seeing is applicable to the 90, and if the Auto Iris somehow contributes to the ghosting...
If you or anyone else can test this, it would be interesting...I'll look on my RS tonight to see if I can replicate his experience - but realistically, I'm running with iris full open for 3D in Normal lamp mode, and am not experiencing much more than isolated, faint ghosting on the 50...it is excellent in this regard, and for some reason, less fatiguing on my eyes.
My goal here is to see if there is some setting that changes the ghosting I perceived with the 90, to make it more viable to take Sony up on their offer for an exchange to test it again. If not, it doesn't make sense to go through the effort, but if it reduces ghosting, I might do so since it's not costing me any more to try, other than grey hairs.
