Is this "Written in Stone"?
Does everyone agree w/this assessment?
(esp. 2D PQ)
Could/wont passive tech improve?
W/the Big Boys joining the party at CES, I would think/hope so!
I bought this one yesterday and even the 3D is great (better than my Samsung 55" C8000).
The background is the deepest black and it is so reflective that it is like a mirror and I am not able to see anything in daylight. Check this picture. This is not a show, this is reflection when TV is turned off.
I've been looking at the Samsung UN65C8000 waiting for price drop which is imminent. I missed the under < $4K price drop in late October on that set but it's bound to happen again.
I'm wondering what you guys think ofthe Vizio as opposed to the Samsung UN65C8000. Both 65" but opposite 3d technologies. Should I be looking at Vizio over the Samsung?
I've checked about a dozen times & haven't seen it.
It is on Sams Club: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/pr...ledetect=false
I have the UN55C8000 in my bedroom and the 65" Vizio in my living room. I like the Samsung 2D picture so much more and believe that the 65" Vizio 2D picture does not come close to it. I tried for hours to adjust the settings to match the Samsung and was not able to come even close.
On the other hand the Samsung has no chance to beat the 3D quality of Vizio. The crosstalk on the Samsung became less with recent firmware updates but they are still noticeable and very annoying. My wife refuses watching 3D on movies on the Samsung because it gives her headache after 10 minutes with active shutter glasses. The way the Vizio shows 3D is near perfect. No crosstalk at all and we watched 2 movies and did the the Nvidea 3D sterescopic test and it looks amazing on the Vizio.
Hands down the best "in house 3D" ever.
I still going to return the Vizio and going to buy the UN65C8000 because 99% of the time I watch 2D and the picture on the Samsung 8000 is IMHO so much better than the Vizio.
