Vip722 with USB Hub

Is it possible to use a USB hub to connect both an external Hard Drive and a Sling Adapter to the back of the Dish Network's Vip722? I would rather not plug one of them into the front as it could easier get pulled out with my little kids running around.

Hey, I just saw your post about using a USB hub on the back of the rcvr. I actually work at DISH and I've seen customers try this and it won't read them. But I do have another option for you and I'm not sure if you heard but, if you have a smartphone, you just download the DISH Remote Access app and you can watch TV any and everywhere!! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me!

Thank you for the reply Danielle, however since I didn't actually receive a response from anyone I decided to test it. Sure enough it worked.

I performed the following steps;
- Unplugged the drive and sling player from the Vip722.
- Reset the device by holding the power button on the receiver.
- Waited for the system to fully boot and I can access the Guide.
- Plugged in the a IOGear 3-Port USB 2.0 Mobile Hub GUH276 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product) that I bought for $8.95 into the back USB port of the Vip722.
- Powered on the External HD which is a Western Digital WD Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive WDBAAU0010HBK (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product) that I bought for $69.99 then plugged the HD into the USB Hub.
- Waited for received to detect it
- Pressed "No" on the option to view Media on the Device
- Plugged in the Slingbox
- Waited for receiver to detect it
- Pressed ok

Everything works from the back USB port. I can now view content on my HD and view media from my phone/computer using the available tools provided by DN.

The only issue that I have is the Slingbox will not stream DVR recorded content to my phone when the system is in Single tuner mode. When I place it into Dual Tuner everything works.

That's correct. The Slingbox will only stream the content to your phone in dual mode as it uses the second tuner to broadcast it. In single mode the second tuner is "Disabled".

I am aware of that which is fine. However, when the DVR is in single mode and you connect to it via the remote app the DVR switches to Dual Tuner mode automatically (which is expected) however it doesn't play the DVR content. It only play live TV.

Once you disconnect from the DVR it switches it back to single mode.

The issue is that it won't play DVR content once it switches to dual tuner.
