Ive seen it all so far and my nod goes out to Imax Under the Sea 3d.
Im not sure if youve all seen it, but there is one specific scene with a rather large fish staring right at you, and i kid you not, the fish is half way into my living room the head is huge!!
by the way im using Viera vt25 54"
The sea has fantastic colors and depth. Im sure Avatar will beat this, but 3 more days.

Avatar looks great but I think Resident Evil looks the best so far. It's just really well done 3D.

Before last night, I would have said Imax Deep Sea, especially the scenes with the sea turtles.

However, now, I will say that my favourite 3D Blu-ray so far is Disney's awesome, A Christmas Carol. Wow! Stellar 3D!

Avatar. I can never watch the 2D Blu-ray again.

I will be watching A Christmas Carol tonight, looking forward to it.

So far: Open Season.

A Christmas Carol........

Watching Polar Express soon, so my vote may change
post #9 of 79
The best so far for me is gran turismo 5, bluray ps3... Still a bluray 3d. It's like driving a real lamb or NASCAR.
Deep Sea is still the best I've seen and I have 18 Blu ray 3D discs.
Christmas Carol is the best I've seen, I don't own any of the imax movies but I have bought just about every retail blu-ray 3d I could get. I'm going to get gt5, hope the 3d is as good as Aj5000 says.
To be honest GT5 is the first negative 3D experiance I've had since getting my TV

I'm going to also back this one. I didn't like the movie itself much, but the 3D was great. For 3D alone, I'd put this one up against a Christmas Carol and the Grand Canyon Adventure.
To. Tell u the Truth I really liked coraline although I haven't seen that many I loved
post #19 of 79
Imax Galapagos and Into the Deep were very cool.

Grand canyon, river at risk was good as well.

We were a little disappointed in Polar Express (3d wise).

So far:

Polar Express

MVA

Cats And Dogs

Grand Canyon going to Ebay, Dinosaurs Alive gone to Ebay, Wild Ocean gone to Ebay.

I'm using un40c7000 Sammy. Now led LCD are not the best at crosstalk, but I do notice serious crosstalk on cut away scenes. However, playing the actual game, crosstalk is minimal and I've got the parallax at 8 or 10. Convergence at 0. I'm still playing around with those settings.

You have to be a fan of gt to like gt. Other racing game is "funner", like midnight run, or need for speed. Gt is a simulator, you have to change car oil for example. The mechanics are one of the best, not the best. Supposedly, it has 1000 cars to customize.

But getting back to 3d, if you get a steering wheel and darken the room, you get the best 1st person driving experience, and the fun is better than mva or coraline or my bloody valentine or ice age, my other 3 d movies.

When avatar and resident evil 3 d comes out this may all change.

Only disappointing thing is that 3d games on ps3 is only 720p so you do lose the truehd resolution of 2d.

Oh, btw, couple the gt5 with 7.1 surround, it's pretty fabulouso.

So far I think A Christmas Carol is the best I've seen. I've only seen Monster House and Monsters vs Aliens other than A Christmas Carol so far. I just got the Shrek Trilogy today only put in first disk for a bit and it looked promising. I have Open Season, Polar Express, Alice in Wonderland, Bolt, Imax Deep Sea and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs coming from ebay so after watching all those I'll update this if it changes.

whats mva? cats and dogs really? is it an exclusive?
The best 3D ive seen so far is the new Thriller intro from MJs This Is It. No ghosting and 3D effects used how they should be, great depth and out of the screen.
MVA is Monsters vs Aliens.
My favorite so far was Alice in Wonderland 3D but I have only seen 5 or 6. I will be getting Avatar and Resident Evil
post #27 of 79
In my humble opinion, "Bolt" has the best 3d effect followed by "A Christmas Carol"
Avatar is by far the best 3d I have seen on the TV (Mits 73738) followed by How to Train Your Dragon...
Grand Canyon and Under the Sea both have outstanding 3D as well as bright, colorful images. Those would probably be my top two so far in terms of sheer visual presentation.

A Christmas Carol and Open Season get honorable mentions; the closeups in Open Season in particular look like they're coming right out of the screen.

Wild Ocean is probably the most disappointing 3D release I've seen so far (discounting 2D>3D conversions such as Clash of the Titans or Last Airbender) as the underwater photography is murky and colorless and doesn't possess much depth at all to it.
Realistically, I think the better question is what are the 3D Bluray's to avoid. Reason being, the vast majority of stuff that I have seen have been Amazing. Each movie I see seems to be better than the last one. I've only seen a couple of things that were kinda lame. Dinosaur's Alive was probably the worst one that I've seen. I can't really think of anything else that was lame. I've seen some of the demo disks, and certain things on some of the demo's were lame, but for the most part, every movie that I've seen has blown me away with the crispness and clarity of the 3D Blu Ray image.

Here are some of my favorites so far:

Bolt
Open Season
Ice Age 3
Alice in Wonderland
Grand Canyon (didn't like the narration or story though)
Avatar demo clip
Monsters vs. Aliens
Monster House
Coraline

I have not yet seen Polar Express, Christmas Carol or Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs.

I have seen How to Train Your Dragon, and actually I didn't think that it was the best example of 3D. Most of the movie has outstanding 3D, but there are alot of scenes in the dark that aren't as flattering imo.
