My HTPC build (w/ pics)

Thread Starter
After much deliberating and trying to think of that "perfect" shortcut to an htpc, I finally just manned up and built one from scratch with the peripherals that I wanted.

Build details:

Silverstone Lascala Series (sst-lc13b-e) (added 2 silenX 80mm fans)
CM 500w PS
Asus P7H55-M Pro
Intel Core I3 540 3.06ghz
Corsair 4gb 1600mhz DDR3
Liteon BDrom
(4) 1TB 7200rpm seagates
Logitech diNovo
Win7 Pro 64bit

pictures of the build:

(huge pics sorry)

Yes, I'm a wire nazi.

Which software to run is also the next burden. Leaning towards wmc, tmt5, mbrowser. Any more insight? I know this part of the build is merely a preference thing now.

Regards,
Jon Cain

Pictures are huge. Any way that you can shrink them down.

I like Windows 7 64 bit.

Shark007 regular + Shark007 64 bit.

Mediabrowser.

All free (except Win7, of course). All work great.

John,

Just my 2cents.

I took my extra drives out of my HTPC and moved them to a PC/Server.

I found that the extra drives were generating more heat than the stock case could handle.

i did a little testing and with all 4 drives spun up (multi copy/paste across drives for testing) and some other processes running in the back (cpu @ 75%) for 30mins, i recorded a max cpu temp of 98*F and 78*F in the case. is that good?

That's very good. Nice work.
