Hey John,, for future reference you might want to be more specific with your thread titles,,,,, just having "YSP-2200" as you thread title throw's people off,,, we dont know if your giving us information, asking a question,, or what.

A better thread title would have been,, "YSP-2200, does anybody know a release date ?",,,,,, the more specific you are in a thread title the better the feedback and replys will be.

Just a friendly heads-up about thread titles.

I have been searching for a release date and even emailed Yamaha and have not found a release date yet.

davyo i am pretty sure, you did not find a damn thing simply coz you were reading in english! various french sites have reported "december availibility"; last year the S400 came around 15th of that month
and let me tell ya some shops have indicated (there) a stock in 15 days...

I have been keeping an eye out for the YSP-2200 (looking at replacing my Niro 1.1 Reference). A few days ago it showed up for sale at Full Compass, though it is unclear if it actually has them in stock. I am really tempted to place an order and find out when the estimated ship date is.

I called them and they said/claimed that it would take 9 days for them to get it from the time of my order and then they would ship it out to me right after they received it,,,,,, 15% restocking fee and buyer pays return shipping if not happy with it.

Humm,, I wonder if they can get it that quick and if they are a reputable seller,,, very tempting but that restocking fee and shipping charges do give me cause for concern,,,, while I do have high hopes for this new Yamaha,,,, the S400 I purchased a while back ago was not impressive at all.

I would rather buy localy or from an online seller that does not charge restocking fee's.

Wow, looks like the YSP-2200 can do just about everything (both TrueHD and DTS HD-MA). I was just about to pull the trigger on the CT350 too. Still might considering the price difference between the two but would LOVE to have the 2200 at least reviewed (in English ) if not already out.

With the release of the 2200 so close I wouldnt even consider getting the CT-350,,,, on paper and in pictures the 2200 looks like it might be way better than the 350 and even better than my much loved JVC BA1.

Yea,, there is a price difference,, but I would rather pay more if it was justifed with the sound quality.

As far as a review in english,,,, rest assured that the moment the 2200 is released I will be buying one and I will make sure to post a little review here and a comparison of it against my JVC and my recently returned CT-350.

Yeah, guys. I'm totally holding out for this soundbar. The 4100 is just too much for my budget and the 2200 will probably suit me just fine.

Davyo, I'm with you. Restocking fees are a surefire me away from a business.

Well just think how bad you will feel when your reading my review later this month and Im talking about how much the YSP-2200 blows the Sony 350 away,,,, ( at least Im hopping thats the case).

I would totaly wait,,,,, now,, would be the worst time to buy a Sony CT,,, unless money is the deciding factor as the YSP is priced higher than the Sony CT's.

For me,, I will pay the extra money if its worth it,,,,,, but the YSP is going to have to beat out my much loved JVC BA1 to justifie the spending of the extra cash,,, not to mention JVC has a new soundbar coming out very soon as well,,, at least thats what I was told when I talked to JVC a few weeks ago.

800 pounds is what... like $1200 - $1300 dollars. That's about 4-5x more than the CT-350! Thats a lot of "extra" cash for us budget minded folks.

$800 not £800 Still, that's almost three CT-350s. The thing better be awesome for that price and I have to wonder how well it does when you don't have a "proper" configuration of walls for it to bounce off.

I'm saving right now to get one! I've been waiting on something that is semi-affordable, with HD decoding. Almost pulled the trigger on the Pioneer, but I think I'll wait for this one.

Can't wait to hear some reviews.

I wrote Yamaha about a release date in the U.S., but haven't heard back. It isn't even on their site (or at least I haven't found it.)

My guess is Yamaha is waiting for CES to do the official release.

Yeah a $1000 US is a bit steep, & thats without shipping. Looks like its available all over Japan from other sellers on there.

yamaha europe has announced at 999 euros; in the US everything is cheaper (ahh you guys are soo lucky!) so it will be 999$.
