Yeah - I think I'm going to try and grab Invasion. I'm almost sure I've seen it in the $5 DVD bin at the local bargain stores. It just never looked that interesting to me, so it's been off my radar.

FWIW, I've tried my copy of the Haunting with the audio switched over to the 2 channel Dolby Digital track that comes on it. That really kills the bass. Not sure what's different between it and the 5.1 channel DD soundtrack on the non DTS release.

Come to think about it, I find that a little odd - that the DTS version has this awesome DTS-ES soundtrack on it and no equivalent 5.1 Dolby Digital for those who couldn't decode DTS. Just that measly 2 channel version. None of my other DTS-ES DVD titles are set up like that.

Did you ever get the chance to download the Danley files?

Sorry but it is hard to tell sometimes what day it is for you. Just curious how it sounded on your system. And just so I am clear will a PS3 and Denon AVR send a 5hz signal to my poweramp just using the LFE output?

Just making sure I will have everything I need here soon. I wont have the displacement but thats to slowly come.

I watched that movie the other day too.
I wasn't expecting that kind of material from the movie. I DID have my system pumped up to scare my companion but she scared ME when she screamed, "the whole windows breaking" !!! Sure enough you could see the 3'x6' dbl pane window, behind the sub, flexing and distorting. The reflected image was being bowed beyond belief. I jumped up to turn the volume down and averted a window breakage. That 7Hz pulse must have hit a natural resonance of the window or some such scientific phenomenon.

Right at the end of the scene 15 space battle I caught my very first DTS bomb, holy $%&^ I thought I broke something! For sure there would be smoke somewhere, but nope everything was fine.

DTS10 has the same or similar displacement?

Can the DTS10 go down to single digits?

DTS10 has a 10Hz knee. From what I understand it can dig down deep, but for 15Hz on down this isn't ideal. I think from 11Hz on up it gets louder and louder as you go up. Still, I would love to see a video of one of these beasts doing that 5Hz/10Hz/15Hz track. MKTheater had 8 sealed 18's and switched to two DTS10s and seems to be very pleased. I think it's been said he misses 5Hz now though, and that is where I need it gotta have it love it most.

Gotta say it again, Helboy II was wicked awesome. Off to the last one of that stack we got: Beowulf.

I tried to download your link to that 5/10/15hz track but didn't know where it was sending me to when I clicked on download. Is your link the place to download the track?

K-Dub,

Loved the vid. Insane.

I dug this SL up of the scene in Daredevil, where the kid wakes up in the hospital blind:

Def a great scene when cranked.

let us know what you get, and let us know what you think of it when you watch it! Got a camera? Carefully play the track in the other 5Hz-15Hz thread and post us a vid

No I will be building a couple of sealed subs using an L/T and 3500 watt power amp. This will not be another THT. Wifey doesn't want another "Fridge," in the Living room.

how bout you borrow my livingroom for a day, see how she warms up to the "huge" fridge
I'm guessing IB is out too? That takes up "no" space and so much less power.
Yah she doesn't really like the low notes.

And I know if she saw your subs in our living room she wouldn't mine the "smaller," ones. Am I still talking about subs.....hahaha

I would love to do the IB but I will leave that for another day when I have a dedicated room. No one in my house is into listening to movies or music the way I like. SO its always kinda hard convincing the wifey of some things. But that being said she is letting me build whatever I want within a budget.

So as much as I need better speakers all around I want to atleast almost finish the low hz quandry.

I think it's the most amazing thing I've ever made . Sadly, without a proper measurement system, I can't really tell you how low I'm going, but it is very low. F'ing Irene definitely had some subsonics going on, for instance; almost seemed to modulate the air. Part of it is that I'm still training myself to really listen for the subsonics--as many have said, it's more a pressure you feel down to your bones than a sound, so unless you're really paying attention it can easily be swallowed up by the higher bass and just becomes part of the 'experience'.

Watching Star Trek, glad I didnt sell it like I thought I did, I see the cones movi it appears there's some single digit in there. So when i play DVDs I have to turn it up more, I am at -11dB. Do I lose any super low end content, or is it lower level across the board?

You lose nothing at a lower level, but when you crank it, the effect is much more pronounced.

With the audible frequencies, cranking it excites your hearing proportionally... with subsonics (sub = below, sonic = audible), you excite the structure of your home.

Star Trek has lots of <15Hz stuff. Here's the opening scene where the Romulun ship emerges from the black hole. The ULF pulses are awesome. My floor ripples.

You might want to add Clash of the Titans. It also has a good deal of <15Hz. Here's a scene that verifies:

Also, Legion. The fight scene with Gabriel & Michael is loaded with infra:

And, as always CRANK IT.

Bosso, as always I LOVE that you grace us with your screen shots! And yup, I was going to mention that scene but then there were more to come

Crank it? Always! As soon as I got to the BOOM after the birth, I boosted/replayed it until I was satisfied I was still safe.

You get to Beowulf yet?
