Top 5Hz-15Hz BluRey movies - Page 18

Between that 5-10-15Hz track showing me 5Hz-9Hz wasnt as strong as I thought it was, Scott's mic showing me that cliff dive after 10Hz, and notnyt and others beating it into my head....all that made me lose interest in this and secretly want to start a new one, 10Hz-18Hz ULF Blureys.

Not no more! I have some landscaping and stereo installs lining up so I can start a new collection. Keep em coming! And thank you for your contributions!

Most people I know of always want a monstrous 20hz and that usually yields a pretty good performance down to around 10hz. SO I think your goals will be easily achieved I am just wondering whats next on the build.

I am just going for the sealed design but I might have to go with a low ported tune around 15hz or something based on grahams thoughts and experiences with his multi tune cabs.

Either way this thread has helped me pick out which movies I actually want to own instead of just guessing.

Id definitely tune rather than simply sealed.

It's not a movie, but I had speclab running while the wife was playing fable 2.

I wish i was a gamer, I just never get into them but if I did it would have to be funner than movies, same old music over and over, and damn sine waves all the time. I loved that commercial black ops ost or whatever it was when they talked/sang in German... sounded hardcore.

Games always seem to be heavy on bass. I remember always playing Quake tournament with others and there cheap boomy Aiwa systems and always having the enemies room shake when I shot them.

Just wish games were as fun as they used to be. Only fun I have any more with games is when they are with other friends intranet style or sometimes online.

I really enjoy the sound of Call of Duty series, both the special effects and music track between matches are pretty cool.

Been gaming at home since the 70's I certainly don't have the time to do it very much. However my daughter, son and I in addition to online multi-player, we play private matches with just the three of us. This is a blast as we all have our PC workstations in the same room (or HT).

Actually my AVS activity has really lessened my free time for many things

I still can't believe you got 8 LMS Ultras full excursion, 3Hz? WEEEE! We-We-We-WEEEEEEEH!

Can someone spec lab this episode at 9:50-10:00 please?

Anyone watch Prison Break? I've enjoyed the low rumblings at the intros, the very loud and low rumbling every time he pulls the toilet off the wall and goes into the hidden hallways, and in the beginning episodes when the guards shot the automatic rifles. I had the levels set perfect episode after episode was always the same...until Season 2 Episode 20 at 9:55 this is the closest I have ever been to bottoming out during a show. I heard the spiders pull tight but no coil clanging. Since going to the manifold with the 5Hz tuning, I have noticed something else as well... sounds like single digit clipping when there is very heavy ULF... it is just a very odd sound from the drivers, not just nearing over excursion, but the amp sounds like it is clipping.

I did have the subs at +12dB, now they are at +6dB and at that same part, I still hear stress.

Prison Break Season 2 Episode 20 Panama end single digit is at 9min 58sec

How? Is the audio available via stream, CD, DVD, or Bluray? I have no boxes or stations to play the game discs

Oh, lol. I was reading an older comment relating to gaming and games with low bass. Forgot what thread I was in, I guess.

But seriously, it's on Steam. You just need the pc gear to run it, unfortunately.

Sucker punch not much bass under 40hz, Thor not much bass under 20hz.
L.A> must be lame ass.

Thanks lfe man. I am always looking for more movies with ULF bass. I have not seen a new movie on DVD since 6 months back. I only watch movies that come out on BR and avoid the theater.

SO didn't know if there was any new movie that came out other than Battlefield L.A.

^^You mean Battle Los Angeles, that movie has tons of ulf. Not very good movie though.

A necropost for The Immortals. Of course, this is just off the DVD version I rented last night:

Here's some 5-15hz action from 10,000BC (Mammoth Stomp Scene) on a pair of Mal-X 21's:

Free-air cause I'm crazy like that...
and because I haven't finished the repair on them fully, just yet.
2L pop bottle just for size reference.

Kryptonite, did you ever get your 21's or XXX'ers in your IB... and if so, how much better was it compared to the Fi's?
BassthatHz what volume were you at and did they pressurize your room at all?

Just curious because I am still waiting on my pair of 21's and getting anxious is all.

Was Krypto getting XXX's?
free air speakers cannot pressurize anything
post #535 of 568
Well..... they sort of could. One would just need a f**k ton of displacement (or a really small space) to fight against the 6dB/oct dipole rolloff in addition to the natural rolloff of said boxless sub system.
I know they can pressurize a room but nothing like in cabinet. My old 15's from back in the day in free air pressurized my garage but that was twelve 15's. And yes just a single EAW PA sub was able to putout more in comparison.

I was more just curious about what volume he had turned the movie up to, and wattage to power the subs.

The old 15's sounded great from what I remembered but didn't have as much low end as the cabinet PA sub.
Nope, I think he was just busy talking me into some
post #538 of 568
It's nice to see high excursion vids, without the typical accompanying distorted audio component.

A lot can be learned from full tilt free air driver testing.

Holy crap. If that scene can push those woofers like that I have to add it to my testing arsenal. That was nuts.

BTW; doesn't the beach assault scene from Saving Private Ryan have some pretty decent LFE? I searched the thread, but didn't find any reference to that one.
Saving Private Ryan has a wicked awesome sound mix (one of my favorites) but almost never goes below 30hz throughout the entire movie. I think I measured one single moment where there is some upper 20's content.
