Need Affordable Receiver for Polk RM6750

Just got a good deal on a set of Polk RM6750 speakers but I'm wondering if i definitely need a receiver (and what kind) to get the most out of these speakers. I have an Xbox 360 and a sony blu-ray player. im looking to spend around 250 but am willing to spend around 300-350 if worth it. I don't know much about home audio so any information can help!

for about $360 you can get a Pioneer VSX-1020 http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-VSX-10...1753317&sr=8-1
for @250 an Onkyo SR508 http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR508...1753369&sr=1-1

in between are the Denon 591, Yamaha V467
lot's of good choices in that range.

Or consider a factory refurb Marantz or Onkyo from www.accessories4less.com

The Pioneer can take any input and output thru HDMI. Onkyo 508 cannot.

The Pio 1020 does 1080p upscaling from any source. Not on Onkyo 508

The Pio has a USB input where you can directly connect your iPod/iPhone. You'd need a ipod cradle with the Onkyo 508.

the Pio 1020 has an ethernet port for internet radio.

The Pioneer 1020 is really a direct competitor to the 608. The 508 competes with the 820 or 920.

Those sound like necessities to me. Thank you both, after the holidays I will be purchasing a Pioneer VSX-1020

the link to the sale price at Amazon.com has a limited life. No telling how long they will have stock and keep the sale price.

They had a similar great sale price on the VSX-1120 and it sold out quickly and the deal is no-more.

with christmas gifts and such I wont be able to buy it until after christmas, but they have it on sale at best buy for 378, so hopefully that lasts for a bit if the amazon deal doesnt
