If you dont mind paying about 30% over AVS's price, hit me up in a PM and I will let you know where they are available and IN STOCK.

You may already know this, but usually you have to specifically specify Saturday delivery and pay a premium for it over regular overnight shipping. I mention this because I would think if they were delivering it on Saturday you'd know for sure that was the case if you set it up that way. Keep us posted. Looking forward to your impressions.

LOL! I can totally relate to your HT binge. Funny thing is that every time you look at that picture you'll probably remember your HT binge you were going through at the time. Glad you are enjoying it, and we're enjoying you sharing it with us. Now where are our screen shots of the convergence already??

30% over price and $215 for overnight: eek: I think you should take your temp

Considering all I do is watch movies and play videogames during the entire month of December, it was worth the premium. I'm crazy, I know!!
not sure how crazy this is. I thought AVS was going to be the first to get the JVC's before anyone else. I placed my pre-order on the sunday they were making phone calls, I could be 150 deep in the queue for all I know.

if you want it and don't mind paying for it, why not..

I might start getting a little crazy too depending on how long the wait is with AVS.

2. Because of the Chief RPAU mount issue, I have the pj sitting on the rack and uses an enormous amount of horizontal lens shift. Can this drastically affect the picture quality? I seem to recall reading about it possibly be bad. It's impossible for me to move the PJ more center since there are doors there. (I'm probably going to make the mod this weekend to the Chief plate if I can't fix the picture otherwise)

3. The issue I'm having is, how can I describe, its kind of a moving object focus issue. For example in a movie if there is a close-up of a face, it is sharp as hell but then as the camera pans out and objects, such as persons or other move around then the picture looses its clarity. In other words moving objects are problematic. I'm not sure if it makes sense but if it does are there any adjustments I need to focus my attention to?

1. More likely it's your own adjustment to what it is from what you expected

2./3. If the only issue is losing sharpness during motion, it's not your pj placement

Have you checked the CMD settings?

I agree. I thought AVS would be getting more or an initial shipment before most others. I believe I got my pre-order call from Jason on Oct 1st (I think). I would like to know were I might be on list, if I am in the next 3-4 for more like 100 or so that way I don't get my hopes up everyday thinking I might be getting a phone call from Jason.
Oh well. Maybe before Christmas I keep telling myself.

If you happened to have seen his post from a month or two ago, Mark made it very clear that the initial shipment of these units was gong elsewhere.

your ahead of me, I didn't get my call until OCt 3rd, sunday afternoon so I have no idea how deep I am in the queue. I was considering stepping up to the RS50 if there was a deep backlog of RS40's vs the 50 stock.

hopefully we'll hear something soon.

I haven't missed a single post regarding the JVC's since well before CEDIA.

Mark was not an AVS employee at that time, but I do recall him saying that AVAD bought out the majority if not all of the first shipment. I also recall posts stating that AVS would receive them at the same time as AVAD.. so how is an end user supposed to know at that time?

I am hoping once they receive their stock, they will let us know where we stand in the queue. I am assuming there is a first come, first served list.

There was talk back in early November about AVAD getting the entire first run of projectors, but Alan Gouger posted that something had changed since CEDIA and that was no longer the case.

The fact that AVAD did get projectors from the first run and AVS did not may be completely unrelated. Supply may have just been so minimal that most dealers got none.

Insert conspiracy theory here.

Avad was originally going to get all of the first batch but that has changed post Cedia.. We are getting our order from the same batch and time as Avad and a big "Thank you" to those who made this happen.

It appears that something has changed. It looks like AVAD got a small shipment and AVS got none (or very few). But Jason has stated numerous times that the schedule was subject to change. Hopefully AVS gets it fair share for round 2.

Jason has posted that he's got a 50 and 40 so they evidently got a few. I'm hoping his review gets published soon....

Oh well. Maybe before Christmas I keep telling myself.

Has anybody asked Jason how many preorders avs got? or maybe he doesn't want to scare off preorders? Would be nice to know. I preordered mine around october 18th. I was originally going with the hd250, then I asked about the preorder price on the rs40 and decided to upgrade.
Jeeeez.... sounds like a lynch mob forming here. We get em when we get em and there's nothing AVS or us can do about it. We are all using Christmas as a landmark (understandably so) but all Christmas is going to do is slow down shipping. if this was July I don't think there would be so much pressure on. What someone said months ago is really irrelevent.

CMD is off.

But I think I'm beginning to understand a bit. I did all my watching so far with DishNetwork content, HD of course. It seems like it's not that great with my current settings anyway. I slapped in a couple of BluRay and the image is pretty fantastic. I will spend more time this week-end tweaking maybe a better custom setting for Dish.

I'm curious; is this a known problem with Dish and a high quality type projector such as the RS40? Anyone else have problems with previous JVC and HD content from Dish? Sam's picture of DirectTV looked spectacular. No motion problems Sam on DirectTV's content?

Wow, that blows.

I agree, you could've waited a little longer and got a RS50 for almost the same price from AVS lol

Can anyone please tell me how thick the thread of the mounting screws are? Thanks.
Don't take me wrong-- I'm not crying about it. It is, as they say, what it is.....
Could be we find out they're crap ( ) before we pay for 'em.
What I'm saying is what happens will be for the best. The waiting game comes along as a parasite to early adoption pain.

They're M5 screws.
The manual says this:

Quote:

Depth of the screw holes (screw length) is 23
mm. Use screws shorter than 23 mm but longer
than 13 mm. Using other screws will result in
malfunctioning or cause the unit to drop.

I been thinking of going with the 40 instead of the 50 for a few reasons.

1- OVER 2000.00 cheaper and will be selling it in 10 months for next years model especially since this is First Gen 3D

2- I dont use the CMS

3- REFER TO NUMBER 1 LMAO

Is this code for "Tonight I'm enjoying my JVC and will be watching TV. Enough with all the reports...It's Friday night already...."?

If you don't use the CMS, then I think this makes a lot of sense.
