To be honest. If your going to wait until September anyways, you should at least wait to see what JVC has in store for the next years model, which correct me if im wrong, is usually announced in September.
There may be some features on the new JVC's that you may like or want to have in 3D mode, like CMD [clear motion drive]. As this years you cant have CMD on 3D mode. I dont really like CMD mode anyways so its not a big factor to me, but for other it may. They may even be updating to faster panels for 3D as well, but who knows.
The option I really like on the JVC's is the Black frame insertion. Gives the picture a liquid feel and look to it. But they need to work on this as I can mildly see fringing of blue a bit. I wonder if this correlates to convergence since the only color that is out a little bit is blue...
Either way, I will be upgrading every year with the new line of JVC's. Or depending on what sony has for next year as well. But I am really impressed with JVC's black level, I really dislike DI that sony has and the accosiated pumping it causes.
I have AVScience to blame for this addiction and hobby now.
EDIT: on a side note, but RS40 lamp is still going strong. I still have it set to low mode, and Iris -15. My screen size is a da lite high power, 130" wide x 72" tall. I even have my projector 3 feet above my head and 4 feet back from seating position.
