If you have a very short throw you will be using the maximum zoom, which often tends to be the less desirable end in terms of sharpness due to the larger area of the projector's lens in use (most CA for example).
I hope you see this reply and at least acknowledge it as you seem very fond of starting new threads and then leaving them without replying to any responses.
Yes I tried that with out the lens in place and it just didn't seem any different. I only bought the lens in the first place as I was zooming and though that was the reason for the soft looking image.
Its now down to the actual projector. Every one goes on about blacks all the time but sharpness is defo the most important for me, especially as I sit 10ft from my 106" screen.
I have no option but to sell my 8500Ub now and look for a single chip DLP which should give the picture that vava voom!!
LCD projector just arnt as sharp single DLP projector, from doing some reading.
My room is pretty blackout as well!
Anyone else out there thinking of buying a LCD projector and you sit quite close then defo go single chip DLP !
Kelvin am the twisted thread starter, cant help it! I need to share my pain !!!
