OFFICIAL DTS Neural Direct Station Status

This thread started with a question but has quickly evolved to updating status of Neural Direct Station status updates.

Simply reply with any observations on the status of stations working or not working. It is that simple. You can copy and paste below and replace "Status" with actual working status such as "Works" or "Nothing" etc.

My SC-05 has stopped receiving Neural Music Direct recently. A few weeks ago I noticed that "The Vineyard" had stopped working but was able to get one of the classical stations.

The original 6 Neural Music Direct stations still show up in the Neural Direct folder in HMG. Now (within the last week) I am unable to receive any of them.

Anyone else with the same problem?

Also noticed that DTS is vague about the stations.
There is a Neural Music Direct page on the DTS website where it references
high quality streaming surround music free to consumers but does not mention
the stations.

I wonder if the server(s) are down due to a cost cutting measure or just forgotten about?

I'm hoping that they just have a new address .... although that could be a problem with my SC-05 since the only way to change that (officially) maybe to send it in to Pioneer for a firmware upgrade.

I noticed these stations going away one at a time for a while now and I contacted Pioneer Support yesterday regarding the stations not working and received the following response:

"Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I sent a note to our engineers. Hopefully they will have it working soon.

Thank You,
Rocky
Customer Service Representative"

Lets hope they get them working again, really enjoyed the stations when they were working. Of course would love to have more options, but will be happy enough just to have the original back on line.

Just checked and see that they are still down. So that makes it almost a month..... probably doesn't bode well for it's future.

It's too bad since in my opinion "The Vineyard" was the best sounding radio station on the internet. The THX neural surround format really shone there.

"The 80's" and "Classic Hits Direct" formats did not benefit as much from the surround format. I wonder if the compressed nature of those formats do not lend themselves to the neural surround format.

Although not my favourite format, the three "Classical 101" stations were also quite good. The surround effect was more subtle but did seem to add something to the music.

Those stations were my only source of surround music. In fact I would use the "The Vineyard" to demonstrate surround music to my friends.

Any one know of other high quality surround audio sources?

I sent a follow-up to Pioneer Customer Support and there response was,

"Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc.

Sorry, no update on their servers.

Customer Service Representative"

Neural Music Direct used to have their own web page, the link now takes you to the DTS web site. I think the question is, will DTS support this content?

Well three of the four are now working:

Classic 80s - works
Classic rock favs - works
The Vineyard - works
Classical 101 - connection still down

Lets hope they stay working.

Just checked mine and get the same ... all but the classical stations.

It also sounds like there is some new content on The Vineyard so I'm happy.

I checked the DTS website to see if there was any info/status and here is what their website says:

Are these stations working for anyone?

I just reconnected my Pioneer VSX-94TXH to the internet tonight, and I get

"Connection Down"

on all four channels

The 80's
Classic Hits Direct
The Vineyard
Classical 101

I get the same thing "connection down" on all stations.

The DTS Neural Direct webpage is still up.

I tried sending a message on the "Contact Us" link but the message does not seem to send. It's beginning to look like a dead feature on our amps.

Good news! the stations are back up

We now have:

The 80's
Classic Hits Direct
The Vineyard
Classical 101 (only one)

When you connect to a station it's title is now prefixed by DTS as in "DTS The Vineyard"

Getting Server Error this morning on Neural Music Direct...

Also having issues with listening to other internet channels, getting "This station is currently not available, please try back again later"...

I guess this is what we can expect for a service that has no subscription fees...

I will follow-up with Pioneer Customer Service

Still getting "Server Error".

I left a message on the DTS Contact Us website. Here is a link to the DTS Contact Us website.

Maybe if DTS receives enough emails they'll get the server(s) back up.
