Well, just watched all 3 seasons in 2 weeks and can finally participate in this thread.
Wasn't the guy looking after Jimmy still on the pier when the boat left?

Thats what it "looked" like, but that has been used as a red herring many many times......

If this show REALLY wanted to take it to the next level, they would have Fiona on board as she is the source of Jimmy messing up.....Whileit will suck to see jimmy go, there are a few ways this could turn out.....

EDIT: I retract that statement:

That's what I remember .. I think Jimmy is either in for a Dexter style end or he's going to have the crap scared out of him .. either way, it's going to change things up .. and Fionas new boss has entered into things, maybe that's a clue on what we can expect .. no more Jimmy ..

Wondering if I should buy a $10 designer beer for tonight's finales. Shameless, House of Lie, and Californication, they're all coming to an end tonight frown.gif

If they have it try Firestone Walker 16th......It a BIG beer and expensive (I think it was ~$20 for the 22) but well worth the experience for a limited edition......They also have a barley wine that I heavily favor wink.gif .......no issues with splurging a little and enjoying it with your favorite shows... biggrin.gif

wow! A fellow beer drinker biggrin.gif

I don't get that beer in Houston. Only recently I found Firestone Walker in Austin, Texas. I bought every beer they sold, the Double Barrel Ale, Union Jack, and the Double Jack. Very good beers, I liked the taste to them.

Thinking about the He'Brew Funky Jewbelation. It sounds crazy! All of their beers aged at different lengths in bourbon and whiskey barrels and mixed together.
Quote:
A blend of 6 ales aged in 73% rye whiskey barrels and 27% in bourbon barrels. The blend consists of of 3-month Jewbelation 15, 9-month Vintage Jewbelation, 1-month Bittersweet Lenny’s RIPA, 14-month Origin, 7-month Reunion Ale ’11, and 14-month Messiah.

eek.gif
Although, it could be funky. ha

yes, theya re hard to find where I am as well (FSW) there are only a few select shops that even sell it here....Luckily though those shops do get almsot the entire line smile.gif Something new FSW is doing (which I like) is adding a bottled date, and letting you know when the best tiem to drink the beer is...This way you can look at the date and if it is best the "best" by dont buy it wink.gif and of course let the store know the beer is out of date :P

not only does it sound "crazy" the flyer is hillarious wink.gif Ill have to log that one into memory and try it one one day.....(it loks like they do the same thing with the botteling dates) thanks for the headds up on a new beer to look for smile.gif

I ahve been holding off but tonight I think will be a Sucaba night for me smile.gif

Man, kind of a sad finale. I guess Jimmy must be done for. For him to show up in the middle of next season would be too soap opera-ish, so I hope they don't go that route and let him stay dead. Poor Fiona, though.
I hope either Jimmy is dead or his FIL is dead because that story line was not interesting and dragged.

Frank is amazing. No other way to describe him. He is one of the great all-time TV characters.

Next season should be very interesting since there are a lot of potential changes. I hope we don't see less of the core players, including Lip and Ian.

I don't think they'll mess with success too much - someone will find out Ian's underage and will get booted from the army, either Lip just won't go or he won't fit in w/the egg-heads at MIT and "he'll be back!" too.
I think they wussed-out with the no-decision thing on Jimmy....
Oh- and I guess Mandy knows about her brother's um... choices.
I really enjoyed that finale. I cant believe after watching the entire run of 3 seasons in a couple of weeks i now have to wait until January for more!

Ian taking his brother's name will probably backfire somehow.
Hope Lip is smart and at least attempts MIT.
Nice moment between Frank and Carl, and Frank and Lip, too.

Good season finale.

Re: Jimmy
I wonder what they're going to do. Fionna misses him dearly of course.

Frank puking up blood on the white ice was horrific! eek.gif
It was nice to see Frank getting some love from his sons Carl and Lip. Congrats to Lip for getting accepted into MIT. I doubt he'll go through with it since he's a Gallagher.

Glad to see Ian not fall for Micky's sadness. Micky had his chance but never gave Ian the love he needed. We'll see what happens when he's in the military. He has always loved that subject so hopefully it works out for him.

V's mom lying about getting pregnant was something else. She was "enjoying" Kev tongue.gif

So Sheila is now a sex toy club runner? That's just like her, what she's always enjoyed to do.

I liked the very ending, snowing outside during the evening. Almost like the previous seasons.

Am I alone in thinking that this season was the best one so far? The previous two were pretty good (save for Amy Smart's character) but this one just had a lot more heart to it, especially the last few episodes. I feel like Shameless found it's groove this year.

I thought this season was the best so far also.

Agree also. Wish they didn't wimp out on the Jimmy thing. Thought for sure we would see him at the bottom of a lake in cement shoes at least. Next season will be interesting.
IMO Jimmy is dead, the money from his handler was the "sign" as well as him saying that Jimmy has "moved on"........

Very touching scene between Carl and Frank was a great scene.....just further drove home what Fionna had told him earlier....We also got to see that Franks addiction has taken him over and without monitoring he will always go back....

Ian will also be back, due to faking his ID.....

I hope Lip does go to MIT, it would be nice to have something "good" to actually happen and stick, but with the way the show is written, he'll be back sometime next year too.....

enjoyed the finale a lot, great end to a great season....

Yeah if they were killing Jimmy I wanted Fiona to find out, at least she knows he just didn't abandon her and move on with her life, now, she will always be hopeful he returns one day.

Maybe they find the body later in next season.

I don't know about Frank, he looks so odd with head oddly shaven he surely endures the cold weather....
I don't know if I would write Jimmy off just yet ..

And where exactly is Frank going .. ??

This season, Frank has gone from his usual uncaring / selfish self to a caring parent ..

And, when Karen took off for Arizona and Sheila says goodbye .. did the little eye roll Karen did give a hint that she's faking her brain injury .. ??

If Lip actually registers at MIT, will that trigger Ian being discovered using Lips license .. ??

What about Fiona in Cube Land .. ?? "You remind me of me .. .. 22 years ago at that very desk .."

While some may enjoy this season for its added "heart", to me that means it's losing its edge. The fourth season will be crucial for me Everyone is becoming just too nice.
While it appeared nice and everybody looks to a happy ending, I am sure there is Wikipedia of all the lowlife stuff that was pulled.
Digging up bodies, running down people, feeding Valium to a baby, faking cancer, faking drug tests. Frank was not nice.

Frank has always had this side to him (the "nice" side) usually though its self serving.....I dont think you have to worry about anything

The way the father deals with bodies? ala Dexter, no finding him unless its in pieces......

As far as surviving the cold, Frank always finds a way wink.gif

How do you not look odd with your head "oddly shaven" wink.gif
post #417 of 600
Yeah I don't know where Frank is going, he has a place to sleep and eat, maybe he just had it with the fat nurse (he wanted a slim beautiful one)..

Justin Chatwin won't be returning next season. Executive producer John Wells confirms that Jimmy did, in fact, die at the end of last season.

From TVGuide:
Quote:
Shameless is saying goodbye to one of its own. During a panel event held at the Television Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday night, showrunner John Wells confirmed Justin Chatwin will not return as a series regular in Season 4 and did, in fact, die at the end of last season.

"He has done great work, but that character was coming to an end," Wells said. Costar Emmy Rossum, who plays Jimmy's girlfriend Fiona, also weighed in, calling the departure "incredibly emotional, like losing a part of your family. I shed a couple of tears in my trailer."

Chatwin's character, Jimmy, split most of his screen time last year between the Gallaghers and his secret wife, Estefania, who happened to be the daughter of a Brazilian drug lord. After she was deported, Jimmy was last seen being forced onto a yacht fearing for his life. While the script had Jimmy being gunned down on the boat, Wells revealed the filming permit for the dock expired before the scene could be completed.

"But actually now it's kind of cool because we don't have to have him die that way," Wells said. "We've been talking about having the recaps every week [next season] have a different way that he died." A statement released by Showtime echoes that possibility, noting that Chatwin "will not be coming back as a series regular, but there is a possibility of him coming back in future episodes in some manner." After the panel concluded, Wells told TV Guide Magazine, "We'll just wait and see if we come up with a story that works or is interesting, but we haven't yet. As of right now, we're done."

Because they didn't explicitly see his death, viewers question whether Jimmy's life has actually been spared. Mystery has always surrounded the character, who lived a double life as "Steve" in the show's first two seasons and even disappeared overseas at the beginning of Season 2. "We were trying to think up ways to make certain that he was no longer with us," Wells said. "We wanted to do a little tag where we were at a polo match and the Brazilians would go get their mallets and drop down his head."

As to how this development will affect Fiona going forward, Wells was mum, saying, "Hopefully in a really compelling and interesting way, but we just started working on next year with the writers, we don't know yet."

I always took Jimmy's final scene at face value. I didn't think there was anything ambiguous or unclear about what was about to happen to him. The episode even ended without music over the credits. He was clearly dead. I'm glad they didn't do that polo scene though. eek.gif

I guess Jimmy won't be going back to medical school then after-all?
