Agreed. she has taken a role that could have easily been a silly caricature of a crazy person and turned it into a real person.
I'm finding that out, too. Although I do find it amusing that while the US version is basically a direct copy, "they" had to make changes to make sure we don't offend any race/color/creed/beliefs, etc. And where the British version has a line or two to setup something that happened, the US version has to show you to make sure you don't miss it. I can see why some of the folks who have seen the British version were somewhat upset/astonished when they saw the US release. I probably would have been also.
Maybe we need a thread to discuss the British version. The "cable, non-HD tv" forum is probably the best place. However, I'm about at parity now with the US series and I'm still not sure if I want going to "spoil" the US version.
