Episodes on SHO - Page 4

The first season was EASILY the funniest thing on television last year, in my opinion, of course. You're free to disagree if you're humor-challenged. The first episode this year wasn't a knockout but it was great to see the old gang back again, and I'm confident that the second season will be brilliant once we get into it.

I thought it was a fine continuation of last season.  LeBlanc is very good at lampooning himself and the occasional reference to his "friends" is judiciously used and to great effect ("this will kill Schwimmer").  I'm still liking it a lot and look forward to the rest of the season.

The show is still hilarious. Glad it's back.

It's kind of ridiculous that Sean lays so much of the blame for the affair on Matt and very little on his wife. You expect Matt to do this kind of sleazy thing; Beverly should be held to a higher standard. She's the one Sean shouldn't be talking to.

Loved the shot of all the "Friends" bobbleheads jiggling to LeBlanc's lovemaking in the background.

I found season one to be good but not great. This season has been much better over all. Especially towards the end of the season it really just gets over the top and all comes together really well. I hope it goes for a 3rd season.

Showtime Renews ‘Episodes’ For Fourth Season
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Wednesday December 11, 2013 @ 9:15am PST

Showtime‘s Episodes has been renewed for a fourth season ahead of its Season 3 premiere. The comedy, a co-production with the BBC, has been picked up for a nine-episode fourth season to film next year. The third season of the series, starring Matt LeBlanc as a fictionalized version of himself, premiers January 12. It picks up with Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) — the English couple whose hit UK sitcom is remade for U.S. audiences and corrupted beyond recognition — back together but they soon discover it’s not so easy to heal old wounds. Things get no easier for Matt this year as his career and ego continue to be pummeled. New guest stars include Chris Diamantopoulos in a season-long arc; Roger Bart in four episodes as LeBlanc’s agent; and Tracy Spiridakos as a family member of actress Morning Randolph (Mircea Monroe). Episodes is created and executive produced by David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, and is also executive produced by Jimmy Mulville through his Hat Trick production company.

That's super news. I love this show. Although she get's little screen time I enjoy Daisy Haggard's goofy character during table reads.

I made a comment here about how much I liked this show back in Feb of '11, and that was before my son started dating Micrea Monroe. I'm delighted for her that she has employment for another year. She is, by the way, an absolute delight: very down to earth, smart and genuinely funny. We've got our fingers crossed that he won't screw this up.

Wow, you're son is very lucky. Seems like we got an "industry insider" here now tongue.gif

Garrett Adams,

Love her! Miss those odd facial reactions she does. i.e.

Oh come on! He already gets to work on Justified, his good fortune pot already runneth over! tongue.gif

Anyway, got a three month freebie to Showtime so caught up with this show over the holidays. I like it. Sharply amusing one-liners and some good self-deprecation. Although I did prefer Matt in the first season when he was more dickish.

Will be nice seeing Kathleen Rose Perkins again, miss her.

Well, except for Futurama.

Anyway, will be glad to see it back. It's a very smart and funny show.

Micrea Monroe's facial reactions were over the top tonight. It's like she has a "cringe" face all the time.

An OK episode for the season premier.

Mircea wasn't in tonight's episode.

You've got Mircea confused with Daisy Haggard who plays Myra the one who makes the faces. Mircea plays the actress Mourning, the knock out blonde.

Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the correction. Mircea DOES have an interesting arc this season, but I don't think it starts for another episode or two. Seemed like a good start for one of the best sitcoms on TV.

FYI, the show is shot mostly in London. This season they shot some exteriors in LA, but next year they are in London exclusively. I guess they'll have to green-screen in those sunny days!

Thanks for the info. looking forward to Mircea's arc. Thought things got off to a solid start last night. Good to have this back on the air.

Well, I guess somebody likes Daisy Haggard's facial contortions. Off putting for me, not funny. To each his own ..

Season one was brilliant, season two was okay, season three isn't starting well - in my opinion. Hope they turn it around.

Looking forward to it, sitting on the Tivo now.

I didn't think the first episode was that funny but this week I really enjoyed. Matt's lawyer, Nickelodeon hand jobs, some funny exchanges between Matt and Sean and some good stuff with Carol and the new guy.

And Chris Diamantopoulos who plays the new boss sounds so much like Harry Shearer to me I keep thinking of The Simpsons.

I laugh out loud at this show; I was trying to think of ANY other 'comedy' that actually makes me laugh out loud. For most other shows the laugh track takes care of it for you. And that's a good thing because most of the time I wouldn't know what's supposed to be funny.

So Merc is completely out of the picture?

It looks that way. I'll hoping he will weasel his way back to the top spot. Carol was really shining in this episode, from the power walk with Beverly to the interplay with the new boss.

I thought they might keep him around to beg Carol.

That and Matt is still banging his wife/ex-wife so he could mix it up there.

John Pankow's name is still in the credits so I would think Merc will appear again at some point. His character doesn't seem like the type that would go away easily.
