Sub to go with DefTech ST's

Just got my ST's & I love them - now to upgrade the sub. Should I have any concern about power? The ST's have a 300 watt sub amp in each of them & what I was looking at had 350 watt - (Outlaw LFM-1 EX, and Hsu VTF-3 MK 3). Is the 350 too small, or does it not matter? My room is only 2000 cu ft so either should work - right? I wish I could get a pair but alas - no room - so I need 1 sub and I can oversize. Yes, I'm old & now I need to feel my HT! Any thoughts between the 2? Thanks,

First off don't ever consider the powered "subs" in DefTech speakers as outright subs, they are more like powered woofers, able to help acheive great mid raneg bass and will never go as deep or as loud as an outboard sub. I have a pair of DT BP7001s that I use strictly as mid bass "subs" set to small and crossed at 40hz to my SVS sub.

DT makes great speakers but their "powered subs" will drop like a rock on anything below 30hz and since most receivers only go down to 40hz before setting the speaker to Large, it's best to keep it set to small and cross at 40Hz and let a great outboard sub handle the real low end.

I would go with the Hsu to accompish what you want.
