Hello, I was wondering what you guys recommended for speaker system that has a good, adjustable bass, and is between $20.00 - $30.00. It could be a little over that, if you think its worth it. Thanks!

Is that decimal point in the right place?

Nothing in the 20-30 dollar range or the 200-300 dollar range.

Im a little confused. On amazon, Ive seen speaker systems for as cheap as 8 dollars, and (so the reviewers say) have an ok bass system. Have you seen an of these? Would you recommend any? Im just looking for something thats cheap, and works, with a decent bass system, for my laptop. Doesnt have to be top notch quality bass, just enough to make KiD CuDi go boom.

I recommend you not believe everything you see on Amazon.

Wow yea. I think you've come to the wrong area. Not to be overly blunt, but a vast number of us probably have systems surpassing the $3,000+ mark, and that's being conservative I'd bet. A $30 system just isn't on our radar.

How old are you by the way?

I think the OP might want an iPod/MP3 dock? If so just pick one from a brand you recognize, there won't be much difference in the 20-30 range.

With seemingly 90% of inquiries about speakers on a $200 or less budget, is $30 really that far away?

I think this one fits your requirements and is only about $10 out of your price range.

You guys are mean, I almost clicked through until I read the hover-text...

Here is something I actually purchased for myself along the lines of the OP when I need some kind of speaker while streaming pandora from my phone.

Premium Portable Sonic Resonance Speaker
# Power: Built in rechargeable lithium battery
# Charging input: DC 5V via mini USB
# Audio input: 3.5mm audio jack
# Output power: 2W RMS
# Frequency range: 40Hz-20KHz
# Duration: up to 20 hours after fully charged

I should probably write the virgin review for that product because it's actually not that bad. All things considered, it's not that bad. Nothing like the tinny/hollow sound you find from almost everything else in that price range.

Im 14. My laptop speakers are rather annoying, so I googled speaker forums, hoping to find something cheap for my money starved wallet. And zieglj01 and arjo_reich thanks for the serious suggestions.

In that case, a pair of good headphones like these http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-...2626937&sr=1-1 would get you a lot further in terms of sound quality.

That is a good idea.

I like Sennheiser, I have a pair of modded 555's that sound awesome and, more importantly, give me audible clues as to which way the footsteps are coming from...

I believe the OP is looking for suggestions such as this speaker system.

This reminds me;

Walked in to my local CVS store a few weeks ago. To my surprise, there was a brand new end cap display, proudly demoing an out of the box pair of tower speakers I'm not sure but I believe they were branded Craig. Immediately jumping out to me was a dual tweeter design, however, the tweeters were vertically spaced by several inches! Yep, vertically spaced...I'm guessing they have nice vertical HF control. I believe there was a mid band driver in between them as well.

All this at CVS for goodness sake! Limited time only,..of course.

Back OT, carry on

I purchased these from Amazon, just to get decent replacement speakers for computer. They aren't the highest quality, but sound fine and Amazon reviewers really liked them. WITHOUT SUB

Also available with sub INCLUDES SUB

Not sure either one has "adjustable bass" though.
