Roadster-S, Those lethal dosages of XPA-1 look sic up there next to the Center. This may have been asked already, what kind of power can those mains take?

Well Mike, The RMB-1095 has always had a ground design flaw (as I learned from my local Rotel approved repair shop). I've lovingly been calling it my hum box. Over the 8 years I've owned it, I've had to struggle against those gremlins on several occasions. Some local guy was looking for one, so I sold it and even had some $ left over after buying the new Emotiva (!) Right out of the box, the sound from my surrounds opened up like I never experienced them before, what a pleasant surprise. And what do you know, absolutely dead quiet background to boot! You would have to pull my Emotiva amps out of my cold dead hands.

The black trim is there on their site, in accessories.

Thanks. The F2.2+ can handle 600W, 320W for the 2.3C+ center.

I found it. Thanks. I checked with them and no silver faceplates. It's great that after the changeover of amps you actually ended up with $. I have to say that every owner of Emo amps I know truly love them.

Teaser: I'm having my Emotiva amp trims done to match my speakers. Made out of padouk wood, no screw attachment and a lacquer high gloss finish to boot. Stay tuned! Oh, I almost forgot, next up will be amp stands, made out of the same finish with bullnose rounded edges...

Having them handcrafted by an Emotiva lounge member. Here's a teaser of the work in progress. It's the same wood as used on the Swans Ultimate series (padouk):



A few more coats of lacquer and they're in the mail!

^^^ Yep. We're just waiting to confirm the perfect color match of the trims first. The amp stands will be built to have only a small overhang to the component. Here's a computer generated pic of what to expect.

Thanks Brolic. They're exactly the same shape as the originals, but I didn't want screw heads this time around. I wonder if my amps will sound like tubes once they've got wood on them...
After they're fitted and all is good, I'll ask and get back to you.

Very happy with the outcome. The whole thing (trims and speakers) is a lot more red in person. Padauk wood reacts very orange to artificial flash. Perhaps, it's a placebo effect, but I could swear the amps now sound like tubes...

Very small upgrade but I'm a firm believer in component isolation. These were inserted under my Oppo. Both my players were also lined with dampening material under their cover.

I'm feel the same as you but I don't have any experience with the ViaBlue products. How did you like the Tris?

I won't be claiming snake oil BS about how it transformed the sound, but a combination of several dampening steps against structure borne vibrations HAS improved the focus of instruments. I also addressed airborne vibration through use of a dampening pad applied to the inside of both my player's covers. In the end, I feel comfortable that I've taken reasonable steps in that direction.

Well, I just pulled the trigger and ordered one of these:




I'll be using it exclusively for my redbook CD's. Being so spoiled by SACD sound, I wanted a dedicated DAC to squeeze the most out of the large collection of regular cd's I've got. Selective SS or tube output.

Also ordered a set of Psvane Collection Grade "A" tubes to replace the stock Shuguang unit. This second version of the EE DAC also has a hi-rez USB input for any future downloaded music (if that day ever comes for me...)

Will be running Better Cables Silver Serpents in and out. I'm already using those on all of my chain except for the speakers.
