HOt Damn! I'm sure it sounds as impressive as it looks. I like the plasmas too over the projection. I got a 58" samsung, albeit not calibrated at 12ft and it's plenty big and I got it on an extending mount so I can move it 2 feet close if it's not looking big enough or swivel to another area of the basement.

That is a very very nice setup. Congrats on that.

Since my Rotel RMB-1095 was an initial version, without any trigger output, I just added a Niles AC-3 to switch it on with my other power amps. The Niles has the advantage of not being current limiting, like so many other such trigger devices. Mounted it in my backstage area.

Love the room, chairs and the television. Ditch the Emotiva amps and switch em out with Rotels. Kinda of a waste to drive the F2.2 with cheap amps. Otherwise very nice.

Interesting, specially since a very high ratio of North American, European and Asian manufacturers (including Rotel, Swan and Marantz) have their stuff assembled in China. They are an exceptional value IMO, bring some esoteric brands to shame for asking so much $$$. In the end, it's all good and it's all a lot of fun

AND I use an LPA-1 for my front stage so I am aware of emo goodness....

Thanks. Swans do have a certain "underground" following, one that is willing to judge them by the amazing value they offer, from desktop monitors, all the way to this high end series.

If you take value out of the equation, many Emotiva owners would still have purchased their amps. Most of the Emotiva owners on this forum can easily afford more expensive amps--we go with Emotiva for their sound and value. This thread is the perfect example. Great audio is in their DNA, and nobody who has heard one will say otherwise.

Beautiful gear. I had a chance to hear Diana Krall at a small venue in Vegas. Great performance.

BTW, having front projection doesnt work for everyone. I'm 50/50. Half of the time I use my plasma (music performances, television, sports, etc) but will drop down the electric screen for most movies. There was a time when I could not achieve the level of performance of my television (Toshiba 65 in. CRT at the time) with front projection at a reasonable price ($30k Sony G90 was needed). Things have definitely changed.

Actually, it's not enclosed for say, only curtains seperate it from the listening area. It has been tried in several locations (back breaking hard to move!) still this corner yielded the tightest, most linear bass.

Listened with curtains moved up and down several times and just couldn't hear any difference. Have been reassured by a sound engineer that the frequencies it works at won't be affected by this set-up. One of the walls it sits next to is drywall over concrete, and the other one is a non-supportive division drywall. Floor is also carpet over concrete. The overall result is extremely tight and clean.

It's funny, i was thinking the same thing about the subwoofer, but figured there was some method to that. Years ago, I had a subwoofer up in the media room closet, calibrated using Audyssey (the first iteration) and the performance was definitely respectable. it wasn't as good as if it were in the room, but after calibration, it still sounded pretty good for a sub in the closet. It probably helped that the closet was not conventional, and had gaps below and above the door. Since you have a curtain, i can only imagine that your sub would still sound pretty good. Purists may disagree with the placement, but in the end, it's all about owner satisfaction--and it sounds like you, good sir, are satisfied!

Just replaced my Sony Blu-Ray with the OPPO BDP-93. So far, very impressed with the Blu-Ray and upconversion performances, as well as the fit and finish. (Buttkicker amp sitting on top)

Black is good so I decided to replace my front curtains for the all black look. The speakers stand out better also, IMO. I've also added some new high rez pics of the gear, just for show
