Which One?: Velodyne DEQ-12r/Yamaha RX-V667 or Emotiva Ultra 12/Yamaha RX-A1000

Hi All,

As the title says "Which One?" - Velodyne DEQ-12r/Yamaha RX-V667 or Emotiva Ultra 12/Yamaha RX-A1000

I have the option of picking up either combo for the same price. I'm undecided and looking for some opinions.

The room is an upside down L shape - 8 foot ceiling across all rooms. Layout is attached. 5.1 HT (Music 50%/Movies 40%/Gaming 10%)

The sub and receiver will be matched up to:
L/R: NHT Classic Three Bookshelf
Center: NHT TwoC Center
In-Wall Surrounds: NHT iW1 In-Wall (Placement is not ideal, but it's what I have to work with.)

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Bump for some love.

One additional thing I was informed of is that I also have a choice of the Velodyne sub DEQ-12r or DEQ-15r.

So the available combos and exact costs:
Velodyne DEQ-12r or DEQ-15r/Yamaha RX-V667 = $499

...or...

Emotiva Ultra 12/Yamaha RX-A1000 = $429

Any opinions?

Thanks.

Thanks for the link. Funny thing, I purchased the Ultra12/RX-A1000 combo the same day you posted the link. The review confirms my assumptions of the Ultra12. So now I feel better, but I won't be able to pound my chest until it's setup and plugged in.

Now the new issue I have is to determine if the NHT 3's and TwoC can be placed inside a cabinet and very close together without having their sound quality significantly reduced.

Anyone have any opinions?
