To upgrade or not to upgrade?

Hey guys
Been out of the game for a while... I bought an in72 about three years ago and the bulb blew out about a year ago so I've just been watching movies on the iMac... So what do you guys think? Buy a new bulb or upgrade? Is it with it to buy a new bulb? Whats a new equivalent?

Thanks!

Upgrade to a 1080p if possible. What is your budget? The Optoma HD20, HD180 and Benq W1000+ are all less than $1,000. At about $1,200 you have the Mits. HC4000 and Epson 8350.

Forget the new bulb. Spend a grand and hopefully you'll be set for 3 more years. Couldn't imagine watching blu ray, sports, etc. on an iMac.

If the Optoma HD180 (HD20) will work for you, buy it today. Woot deal of the day. Best price right now.

Just IMO the next 12 to 18 months will show a true evolutionary step in projectors as their makers will catch up with TV makers with regard to 3D.

If something happens to our 3 yr old Panasonic - like blown bulb - I'll replace the bulb cause I don't want to invest in a PJ upgrade for at least 12 months.

You should also look on C.List within 60 miles or so of your home for used projectors - depending on the cost of a new bulb you might find used PJ with a good bulb for less.
GoodLuck
