Urgent-AVR needed-analytic overload! ~$500

Ok, I am working on an AVR budget of ~$500 +/-.

Room is 14x15 and I am hoping to get some paradigms to wall mount.

TV is a panny 54G20. Obviously no 3-d. Do I want 3-d in my AVR for the future? Can you allow 3d to simply pass through to the display if the AVR does not 'support' 3d?

I would like network ability as well as internet radio.

I am probably sticking with 5.1. I don't feel the need for 7.1/7.2, but if the receiver has it, I can try to double up the fronts if its allowed. Dual zone is nice.

I've been looking at the Yam 667, the Onkyo NR807/808, Yam A700, HK 3600...i'm dizzy actually.

I know some of these AVRs go over $500 list. There have been some good deals here or there so I've included them. Please help me as my head hurts.

The room will be multi-use. Tv during the day/night and movies on the weekends with some xbox for me. I would also like to play music and miss having a good system to do that.

Am I on the right track? Can you point me in the right direction? Is there an AVR for less that will only sacrifice an option or so?

Thanks.

scott

Hi there are already many similar threads with useful information, if you use the search feature.

In addition here are some external links to reading material that may help

Good luck!

I have searched and searched and searched. Technical data, which you provided more of, is abundant...everywhere.

I am looking for the subjective. Those who may own a particular machine and have ascertained its flaws or attributes.

Thanks though.

Pioneer 1120. There I'll recommend before anyone else does. Also check with your local Best Buy and see if they have any 3310 or 4310 leftover. The 3310 can be had if you go there and talk to a manager. Maybe even the 4310 for a little more.

When doing my reading and research, I narrowed my choices to Yamaha, Denon and Pio,based upon external info, then read through the owner threads here. This helped to help refine the choices to the Yamaha 667 and Pio 1120, as I had no luck finding last year's Denon at my local Best Buy.

I bought the Pioneer 1120 as Amazon sold it for $490. I have had it for a week and so far am happy with my choice.

Thanks everyone. U had narrowed my search to the 667 and was looking at the pioneers, but then I started hearing 'marantz' is warmer, yamaha this, Onkyo that.

I know Cnet gave the pioneers a great review. The iPod connectivity is nice... I am noticing that I need to spend 650+ for network connectivity.

How do you define Network Connectivity?

The Pioneer vsx-1120 can be had under $500, same for the Onkyo RC-270, both have ethernet and can stream pandora, etc.

I'm sorry. I didnt realize the 1120 did that. I hadnt been focusing on the pioneers but am currently checking them out. Thx!

I want easier firmware updates and ability to stream Internet radio.

Can you connect a pc through this connection? I would really like that option.
