'Falling Skies' on TNT HD - Page 55

It's been so long since I've seen S2 I honestly am having a hard time following what's going on.

When the baby started running around and talking the first thing I did think was "it's the baby from V"!

Yeah, and it's been done on Stargate....

Well, then if tradition holds, Falling Skies might be seeing a little Morena Baccarin action. Which I'd be OK with.

And on Star Trek TNG. Of course, in their case the kid grew up and left in a single episode. I'm sure this one will take several.

But I also have the distinct impression that the baby that Anne saw and heard was significantly larger than the one Tom was holding later.

I read on WIKI that the kid grows up on Sunday and gets promoted to VP .. wink.gif .. nothing like a little nepotism ..

That's probably just a production error. I would guess they had to use different babies for the two scenes.

That and they often use a doll when the view of the kid is blocked by blankets and stuff. It saves a lot of hassle when dealing with tight production schedules.

and real babies can only be on the set for minutes.....

There have been some suggestions on what caused it. I'm curious if the de-harnessing machine that she uses affected her in some way. Hopefully they explain it shortly. Also, as someone mentioned, she seems to be the only one noticing the uncharacteristic behavior, so who knows if it is even happening.

On a different topic... I'm quite annoyed by this season essentially being produced in what's almost monochrome / black-and-white and very dark. It's quite unnecessary.

I have not noticed anything like that this year.

I FF'd through most of this crappy episode, may be out after this one.

I wonder if the costs are getting out of control, why dump a semi interesting character? Most of the plot was pointless, last season the camp was fairly open, people kept wandering in. Now they are having fire fights and skirmishes with other humans? Seems like there are better ways to find out what is going on--- they have radios and power why was the shooting necessary? Which brings me to the Volm -- is it just a small band of Volm? If they had dropped in elsewhere then news of what was going on should have spread and then no need for the scouting party/firefight.

Really don't give a damn about the baby, seems to be more of a distraction than an interesting plot point. The closing shot with Tom and Ann seemed weird, in the previous scene she was very upset with him, now they are all cuddly?

Didn't they say there were something like twenty five of them? Not sure of the exact number they said but it was a small contingent.

A real budget saver this week. A Saving Private Ryan battle scene in which the enemy fire is coming from off screen, a battlefield consisting mostly of a 30 foot area of concrete rubble and zero aliens. They didn't even have the budget to have one of the Volm come in and use the extremely advanced technology to try to save Lee. What did the Volm do with the all the dropships that fell over South Carolina? Can they still fly? How did they get them to Charleston base? Did they not bring medical equipment besides assault rifle blaster upgrade kits? ... alas, we will probably never know.

My bet is on Lourdes as the spy and she is hiding the real test results of the space baby. I wouldn't be surprised if she's working for the other president as a twist. The more imminent clue was that she had far too much screen time in this episode to justify her glorified extra status, so I'm going to take that as a sign the show is trying to pad out her character so that the reveal is vaguely justified.

Hopefully Hal will die soon too. He's not only massively annoying now but he's dragging down Sarah Carter too. She used to be a buttkicking action babe and now all she gets to do is give Hal pep talks and relationship advice.

Only 25 of them (actual bodies) got through, they stated there troop ship is waiting to get through the shield the other aliens have put up and are building that weapon to pierce the shield and let the troop ships in.

They aren't all cuddly but they are closer, it was an emotional momment for them with the tree and remember all they have lost and all that have died for their cause. A lot of times you put aside other differences and issues when momments like that arise.

Even with the plot holes and other things, I am digging this season. You can't go into this show (or any other show for that matter) expecting them to be 100% accurate and perfect, it is sci-fi for heaven sake. With that, this season is going good so far for me, I am liking Tom as the president a lot, I love his interactions with his kids, especially his previous harnessed kid. Tom's respect from the military, and loving Pope. Love the new aliens, just a lot of little cool things that are adding up and making this a fun ride.

Luvia Petersen in the episode, same night as Continuum, I guess they'll take any Canadian actors they can..

Yeah it looks the mole could be the new VP or the Doctor's assistant, and talking about doctors, where's "Wilson"?

I'd say it was the most boring episode to date.
I actually left the room a couple of times- without hitting pause- a real stinker....frown.gif

As soon as I saw her I said... "Garza"!
Guess Liber8's in on the alien uprising too biggrin.gif

Have to agree with others here and say it was a pretty weak episode .. it's like they packed the 2 hour premier with everything they had and now the balloon popped ..

And Pope was clearly not sawing any rebar, the hacksaw was barely under her head with the blade centered on Popes ring .. A small, easy detail like that should not be a problem .. a film school student could have staged it better

It was an *ok* episode. I'm not sure about the other United States angle. Next week's looks interesting though
