Second, they are electrical (Copper ok'd) bullet connectors.
They also happen to be 4.95mm which fits perfectly into banana inputs.
They also only cost $2.95 for 50 of them.

As far as SQ goes, no different than bare copper wire.

So yea, there ugly, not very cool, but cost effective....lol

Canare 4S11 single-wired results in 11AWG. You could use Canare 4S8 single-wired and get 13AWG

Now you've got to figure out how to get some kind of Evil logo on the cables.

There was this company a few years back called Cat Cables and the guy would paint some kind of a cat logo on them. I swear, there were grown men, at least I think they were, that would buy them, post their impressions on a forum, and then write..."Meowww". Go for it! Now, if you want a place where you can buy unique cables (you'll have to finish them yourself) where some of the audiophile labels used to or still go, drop me a PM and I'll give you a heads up.

forget the model number high end monster cable.
So, when they get here, time to have a listening party. Lets see if with some serious listening and a little SPC, we can find a better cable.

Absolutley, I agree. I was just joking with Dr_Mark and his audio test comparison. I'm waiting for my monoprice cable to arrive so I can assemble some of my own, based on the info in this thread!

Has anyone used the GLS Audio Safe-Connect "Generation II" banana plugs? I see they don't use a set screw to hold the wire in like the black chrome model. The wire is fanned over the inner casing, but what keeps it from being pulled back out? Does it get clamped on from the top when the plug is assembled?

Isn't that how all closed-type banana plugs screw in? That's how the closed monoprice plugs do, at least. when you screw it down it pretty much clamps the wire, securing the plug and wire together. Of course, if you pulled VERY hard it could come out.

I noticed they all went out of stock very recently. Did you buy them all up for your new cable-making business? ;-)

Yes, but get rid of the GLS label and replace it with EvilCables.

I'm one of those who believe they can hear the difference. So I figure, get a few of the bulk cables out there and do a shoot-out. If there is one that is better lets use it.

I did this last year. I favor the BJC bananas over the GLS Audios. I had a much easier time getting the screws to take hold with the BJCs.

Here is what I was thinking. I will give an excel spreadsheet to each person. Columns to pick Left/Right/no difference. I will have the group leave the room and hook up either different wires to each speaker, or 2 of the same to each speaker. Do this at random for 10 or more shots. Let them select on the spreadsheets and run the numbers. If 1 or 2 seem to be a clear winner at the end, then run the 2 and see if there is still a clear winner.
Ideas?

The other article I read suggested using a musical piece that no one is familiar with to remove bias. I don't know how important that is to your test, but it was something done in the coat hanger test.

If you're so sure of yourself you should enter one of those challenges where you'll get a bunch of money (up to 1 million dollars) if you can tell the difference between speaker cables in an ABX test. Many have tried, and so far nobody's succeeded.

I am sure enough to have put $30k of my own money on the line. As for no one has succeeded. I think Krell, emotiva and a lot of other companies that sell based on the wiring, connectors, power suppliers, etc., inside have. Otherwise, why are you buying this stuff? Just hit home depot and buy lamp cord.
