Those cables look nice Jesster. Is that the desert camo techflex? I've been hoping that someone would post a close up picture of that flex for a while. What do you mean you "curled the ends"?

Yes, that is Desert Camo. My basement has earthy tones so I think it matches very well. I'll take a close up macro shot of it so you can really see what it looks like.

I meant to say crimped instead of curled. See how the cable pants swirl up to the banana plug. I did that by crimping the actual cable underneath. I just made another set a different way. I think it looks better and I will post pics later on. I used the Emotiva heat shrink over half of the banana plug.

did you make those power cables, or just dress up an existing cable?

ps, you've got pm.
I make my own stuff. I hate electronics with cords too long or too short.

It's true! Thanks nezff, I'll be making my own power cords next.

I'm re-doing my speaker cables from the pic I posted, I want them looking just right (according to me of course). I dig having the different options to "color" up my speaker set up.

Belden 14/3 power cable, wattgate ends, clean cut black and some heatshrink.

are those gls audio locking bananas gold plated, just curious as the website is unclear.
I'm assuming they are. They are definately gold though.

I'm using Furez 10awg, should I get the PE 10mm pants or 11mm pants?

I know the 10mm works good on the 12 gauge. I just bought some belden 10 gauge, so I will have to let you know. Im assuming the 11 might work better by the time you put flex on it.

Does the 9mm work good for 14AWG?
They actually will all go over 12 and 14 gauge, but you have to take into consideration how tight do you want them after the flex or whatever else you apply. My thing is, when I make them, I dont the pants being so tight that you see anything underneath them showing through. I have 9,10, and 11mm pants here and i tried them on 12/2 and 14/4 and they go over them, but like I said, give yourself a little room to play with.

I have the GLS wave flex plugs like nezff showed a pic of and I can say that the plating is very good. One of the plugs I got was not perfectly round and didn't want to fit right in my binding post. I'd guess they got bent in shipping, but I worked it over with a pair of pliers to make it fit better and even after doing that the plating looks fine.

Nezff,
Do you have links to the components you use for your power cables? Would 12/3 or 10/3 be a improvement over the 14/3 you use?

Thanks

You can always use the Belden 12/3 but cost more.

I use Belden 19364, but the guy I bought it from is no longer selling it.

You arent going to see a improvement. Most if not all AVRs/prepros use 14 gauge.

I think I will look at work to see what we have around wire wise. I do have a good link to heat shrink. What about ends would you suggest.

How do you feel about the :Ferrite Core 3/8 Cord Noise Suppressors? Need? Not necessary?

Never used them. That would be up to you.

I'm thinking of getting some GLS plugs. Wondering if anyone is using their new "Flex Wave" (sawtooth style) plugs and how you feel about them compared to the GLS locking ones?

I like the locking ones the best. The flex wave plug creates a pretty tight connection though. I am just partial to the locking ones because I have good luck with them so much.

these are also a great product
Not sure how many of you like spades
